Go here http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/stats.asp and look at the second chart - the one that shows interest by brand name. The best brands are indeed the ones in the top part of the chart. And vice versa.
Here's a listing in order by ratings. You can pick out the "better brands" from this chart.

Another good rule. Even if you don't buy from them, check with B&H Photo (available through Yahoo! Shopping). If B&H does not sell the brand you are looking at, don't bother buying that brand.

I have a Canon ELPH that I love, all those cameras are fine. The only thing with Sony cameras is you can't use a regular SD card for the memory, you have to buy something specifically made for the Sony cameras, less convenient and I think more expensive so I went with the Canon, I don't know about the Casio but I'm sure its a good brand, I've heard of it just don't know about it. Since they are all good brands I would go with whatever you like the best according to features and design you want.

Go with Sony or Canon. Casio is a great watch maker.
NEVER choose a quality camera on color alone. Buy a camera on performance and features most important to you.

You should go to a shop that sells them all, even if they don't have the colors they should have the models for you to peruse. Every brand has good models and versions and bad as well. It really depends on what you want and don't want, what menu features you need or don't, and how the camera feels in your hand.
I love Kodak products. That's what I've owned for many years. The software and website are bonuses that I find very easy to use and teach from. Peace.

In your way of choosing a camera, you do much prefer on its colors, not on features, etc. If your asking what camera has the best quality pictures, I bet on Sony. I hope you'll pick the best digicam. Goodluck!
