Last month I tried Wellbutrin and it made me a basket case, I cried a lot, had fits of anger, couldn't stop shaking and not to mention the lovely 24 hour headaches and waves of nausea. I called my dr and had her take me off of them. Another dr of mine said that I might want to try a mood stabilizer. I was wondering if anyone has tried these and what their side effects were like. Any help is appreciated!

Yes wellbutrin made me nuts. I am on lexapro and it is fine.

Just because one antidepressant doesn't work does not mean they all won't. (I've also been through Prozac, and Paxil which worked the first time but not the second time, and Zoloft)

Mood stabilizers, like lithium, are more commonly prescribed in combo with anti-depressants not as a substitute. They are also not usually prescribed for depression in the first case unless you are bipolar (then it would be combo anyhow). The side effects are not pleasant such as weight gain (more so then with antidepressents), somulance, etc.

Welbutrin has 2 distinctive forms of supply approaches, one is the steady dosage that is going correct to paintings and the opposite is the improved liberate dosage. If you may have attempted one and no longer the opposite, you will have to deliver the opposite a take a look at.I take it and it's been fine for me, I give up smoking, and dropped 30lbs all in four months. I had been on it now for over a yr and it is helping preserve my weight down and it additionally continues me from letting a few of my ocd conduct take over. I are not able to take it at night time despite the fact that, it wires me so badly that I dont sleep. I discover it to be a God ship, the whole thing else both made me unwell or didnt paintings.

All medication have side effects. Some go away or you can manage them. Mood stabilizers have the same side effects as most any other drugs. You can have headaches, stomach upset, sleepiness ect. But you get it with all medication.

Oh yes, tried that stuff too.
I went off of it within two weeks.
After that, I was kind of skeptical on taking any more meds. So, I didn't take any more.
