I am 20 and currently doing part-time work as a telemarketer for my university during the summer.
My vocal teacher offered me an opportunity to sing Soprano 1 at a church. You sing twice a day on Sundays and the pay is supposedly pretty good. However the church is located 45 minutes drive from my location. I don't have a car, and I'm not sure how long it takes by bus.
Would you try for this singing job or just forget it because of the transportation problem?
( I don't live with my parents either, so I can't ask them to drive.)

How would I be lazy? I'd continue working this other part-time job. I'm also prepping during the day for the LSAT exam.
I'm not going to quit my university telemarketing job...

Really now, if u need the money u;ll go for it. Its an easy job after all and beside that its once a week and on Sunday so u can take a walk or find out how u can get there. Try to do something abt it. Is not such big of a deal. And beside that i;m sorry to tell u but putting a question like that it makes u look like a lazy person.

Depends on how much they pay. Just because the pay is good doesnt mean that it is great. It sounds like a good job to do but a 45 minute commute with no car can be stressful.

Find out how much you will get paid, how long it will take you to get there. If you are still interested, then give singing a try. If things do not work out for you, you can always go back doing telemarketing.
Good Luck!

Well,1st I would find out what the actual pay is and what the cost for the bus ride will be.. if you like this job, and the money is right---- I think it is worth at least giving it a try.

Why can't the teacher (if it is their church), carpool you, or arrange for someone to do that. That makes far more sense to me than you putting out for transportation costs. Also, busses run on shorter schedules on the weekends, if at all.

Don't just phone. Go to a prospective work place in person. Also, dress how you would if you were going to start working there right when you walk in. Be confident in the interview, and look the interviewer in the eye.

well, most churches have a van or bus which is free, so see if you can get close enough for someone to pick you up or explain it to your teacher maybe there is someone in your next of the woods.
good luck

leave about an hour or so early and see how long it takes the bus to get there then make your decision on whether you want to go through with it or not
