In R&S we spend a lot of time trying to define the life force that animates all living things and the origen of all matter. We pretend to be some athority on the universe and try to back it up with reason. Can it be that we are all in some way worshiping our perception of reality? I think it is sort of funny.

The common model is to worship to allay our fears. The "worship" of science or the worship of a God is in essence no different. At a truly fundamental level we do not and cannot understand either but we use our understanding of some things to form the basis by extrapolation to explain to ourselves everything.
We know that somebody made the house we live in therefore their must be an equally clear explaination of who made the universe. Whether God or a science based big bang makes no difference because we really do not and cannot know what either of those things really mean.
For some reason it appears impossible for most people to say when asked how the universe was created "I do not know". We all have to drag out our favourite character, be it God or Science, and use that to try to explain the inexplicable. Because we are afraid of the unknown our fears push us to fol even ourselves that we do know the answers to everything and that those answers are either contained in a conveniently sized book or are safely stored in some scientists head waiting for a user to come along.
Sorry for being a cynic but sometimes even the cynical answer is the truth.

i do no longer agree that we (as in each and every person) could worship or have faith in God. some human beings worship him because of the fact they they sense they could. some human beings worship him because of the fact they want to. after which some human beings (like me) do no longer worship him in any respect. even although i do no longer worship or have faith in a God i've got not got a issue with others that do, so i've got faith that because of the fact I appreciate and hear there ideals that they could do the comparable for me. i think of human beings could be type and respectful to each thing; our planet, animals, and something and each thing surrounding them. no longer because of the fact there's a god telling them to or because of the fact in the event that they do no longer then they gained't be common into heaven, yet because of the fact this is the splendid ingredient to do for all and sundry. thank you and function a constructive day :)

No.

Because we do not actually perceive anything there.

People worship their fantasy - eternal life.
People worship from their fear - death, hell
People worship from incredulity - there MUST be something in there I can relate to.
People worship from ignorance - I don't understand it so I am just going to say God Did It.
People worship to belong - all my friends and neighbors go.
People worship from indoctrination - I'm a XXX because my parents were XXX

Very few people worship because they have thought about it and it really makes sense to them.

Perception is reality to most people.
There are people that worship nothing including their perceptions.
