Recently, somebody helped me with a diet and i actually did lose weight. The things that I carry in my mind about this diet most are: have plenty of water, stay away from sugar, try to eat most of your complex carbs in the morning and throughout the day as opposed to bunching them all up for dinner, dinner should be your lightest meal, no fast food
Having all that sugar will not help you if you are trying to lose weight. Apple jacks have a lot of sugar in them and you really should have some milk, probably skim milk would be best. You have carbs and some protein but you're lacking veggies and fruits. Make sure you have a balance of everything. For example, here is a day of what you should be eating:
breakfast, some sort of cereal, not the kind with lots of sugar, try quakers oatmeal or cheerios, and a glass of milk
lunch, some protein such as chicken or beef, bread or rice, and a salad without dressing
dinner, steamed veggies
for in between snacks try to work in some veggies and for dessert a fruit salad would be great, don't forget to drink lots and lots of water throughout the day, and try not to eat anything after sunset, if you are tempted to eat something late, have a cucumber or something similar or drink some water, water is filling, but make sure you eat enough, do not undereat because your body will know that you are starving it and that will make you gain weight, so make sure you eat enough so that you are not hungry.
trust me, this works, someone helped me with this, actually it was a medical student with adequate experience, may God bless that person, and it really works nicely but don't expect results after only a few days, thats unrealistic, i learned that long term results are not instant, they take a while but they are so worth it and the results are sweet!

Your mouth must taste like a desert by now. What you need to add is a whole new diet. Try "grazing" all day. You need to eat protein, veggies and starches. By not eating much your telling your body that you are starving which tells your body to store fat. What you need to do is eat 5 or more small meals a day. Making sure you get alot of veggies, some protein and starches and fruit. Keep it a healthy balance. Eat often and get rid of your homemade diet. Its not a diet. Also add plenty of water. Good Luck

Eat only when hungry and not more than thrice a day. Nothing other than water in between. Include plenty of uncooked vegetables and fruits in each meal, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel at least 32 times to activate ur body to generate signals of hunger/fullness. Obey these signals.
Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.
U will achieve what u have not even dreamt and that too in a reasonable time. Do not be in a hurry.

Toooo many carbs. Add more protein and veggies and fruit for a more balanced diet.

Lean meat

Must have some of these also.

get rid of the applejacks, replace those with wheaties, say bye bye to the oreo bar and eat a banana or something.

how about some fruits and vegetables? also you need a certain amount of fats to help skin
