Logically,if every one becomes vegetarian, most of animal species would have population explosion. At some stage, earth's resources would not be able to feed them and in obedience to the 'law of survival',some of them have to turn non vegetarian ie meat eaters.Gradually, the number of meat eating animals shall increase and at some stage, pose a threat to the human beings, particularly by the animals which are stronger and bigger than humans. Without going further and coming back to the issue at hand,it would appear that non vegetarianism is an essential link in the continuity of Food-Chain on the earth.OR, take the case of carnivorous animals like tigers, lions or jackals and we know that their population has no adverse effect on the population of the animals they feed upon.Does it also mean that meat eaters are the balancers of food chain on this earth ?Well,Being an occasional non veg,I better stop now.

From your post it seems like you're the one that's trying to force people to eat meat. At least you're trying to make out that a veg diet can only be done by the rich which is absolutely not the case... Fruit, veg, beans etc are much cheaper than meat and I've saved so much money since I gave it up. You'll also find that a lot of poorer communities (eg areas of rural china) mainly eat vegetarian because it's cheaper and they can't afford meat. If you know anything about nutrition you'll know you don't need expensive supplements and you can live perfectly healthy on a vegetarian diet... Most of India has been Vegetarian for thousands of years because of their religious beliefs and they've been doing just fine. I've never told anyone not to eat meat. I don't start ranting on forums about things I don't know and making claims that can't be backed. If someone's told you to do something you don't want to do then tell THEM... don't come on here generalising and telling us to leave meat eaters alone... leave us alone! You can't ask people to not tell you what to do while doing exactly the same thing yourself... making arguments about why you shouldn't be vegetarian and claiming you respect it at the same time. "I bet if the animals were reared as humanely as possible they still wouldn't eat meat. All sorts of excuses." Excuses?? Yes that's very understanding of you. There's just too much wrong with this 'question' so I'll just stop now.

No, we kill them, so they would more likely become extinct if we kept eating them ... but if we did not breed them anymore, some species would become extinct - those that are only bred in captivity. Those in the wild would survive, and there probably would not be a population explosion because the natural balance of life would eventually even themselves off to the carrying capacity. Eventually things would be normal again, without captive animals :)

Also, I've seen people think there would be too many animals ... I don't think there would be. There's six billion people, I believe we should start lowering our population a little before the animal population. (Not by killing people, obviously, but just people not having as many children :))

YES, they would. Nobody would kill them. The population would overflow. The animals would get weaker from having to little a food source for the rise in population. All of them would die. That is why people have a right to hunt. It is more of a duty to the animals. If the people get a little fun from it then all the better for them. The meat can be given to charity if the person killing doesn't want it. Hunting is good. (God put man on the top of the scale for a reason, we are responsible for killing a few of the animals every year...humanely!)

I am a vegetarian too and those animals would not become extinct because there are just as many carnivorous animals out there to create the balance.

Some. For example there are no longer cows living in nature. All wild cows have become extinct only domesticated cows live any more. So no more need for the cow they may just die out. Who would bother to take care of them. Altho they are sacred in India so they may be OK but for non religious symbols. Who know.

probably

of course im sure some traditional farms would still have them. but honestly, i don't get why everyone should stop eating meat. in america i understand, but in other contries that is a vital food source and it is neccesary for survival.

of course any wild animals would breed and there would be too many.

and we have killed off most of the carnavors to very small numbers.

but if you count dary, cows, chickens and goats would be fine, just less in number.

There is a type of turkey that can only be bred in captivity now. So yes, there are probably some breeds of animals that would not survive if people stopped eating them. But maybe they could be rehabilitated to be wild again.

no, if everyone KEPT eating meat, they'd be extinct. if everyone stopped eating meat, we'd be over populated with animals.
