Usually I just ignore them following Paul's instructions. We definitely need to pray for them as they "oppose themselves to their own destruction".

It's frustrating. But then again, the greater part of me thinks that it must be just a joke or just plain stupidity from people. Some of the questions I see are really stupid, that I think do people really ask such questions? Or do people really think that way?
Freedom of speech is a right that anyone should have, but sometimes I think it goes too far when it is racial and belittles other racial or religious groups.
All I know is that I have peace in my religion and I wish that others can have peace with their ownselves in whatever way they think is best, without having to undermine or insult other peoples beliefs.

I'm not too happy about it. However, this is the internet. Home of the childish. You can't get far online without running into spammers and trolls.
I try not to offend other people's religions. As an atheist, I can make a point about Christianity without deliberately trying to insult them. Similarly, it shouldn't be a place to insult Muslims, Jews, Buddhists, Wiccans, and so on for not believing what you believe.
I've seen a ton of questions geared towards how atheists suck or need to shut up or are too stupid to know what they are talking about. It's not a pleasant thing to see, but I try to debunk it.

I feel proud when someone comes to battle with me. It means they care enough about their beliefs and there rights as well. Most of the time this type of conflict happens because of misunderstands and generalizing. Nobody can take away what you believe in, they can change how you feel, simple you may agree to disagree about your beliefs.
Conflict is a great way to start up conversations. I say let'em bring the fight to my door step. I will do a battle of the wits with anyone.

If they just insult then is is because they have nothing better to prove that their belief is right.
I am an atheist because it is the most sensible and logical conclusion that I can come to seeing the world and the universe around me. I have come to this conclusion after years of careful thought. Someone insulting me for years of thought - I just laugh it off, they are the fools.
Now, if someone wants to come up with a logical argument for the existence of god (good logic, not absence of evidence or incredulity or special pleading) or would like to point out demonstrable proof, then that would make me recinsider.

Most people who come online to tout the glory of their beliefs over someone else's or over the FACTS OF REALITY as demonstrated by science quite simply uncouth loudmouths taking out the frustrations of their miserably, unsuccessful lives on whatever stranger online has said something that makes the pustulant boil of their irrational mindset fester and burst.
I don't like it when someone attacks my beliefs. But, I don't believe much. I have the common sense and intelligence to use my rational mind and the evidence provided by SCIENCE to ascertain the most factual understanding of reality. The irrational and the primitive can attack science all they want, but science is the most accurate means of gathering and understanding information and thus, reality. When someone attacks that, I just have to laugh: it's like listening to someone suddenly go insane and argue with me that the sky isn't blue. If someone wants to believe the sky is purple...that's their choice...but it's what I define as STUPID given that most of the evidence suggests that the sky is blue at least as far as it appears to us as blue.
How do I handle it? The sheer ugliest of the lot I report. The simply ugly I tend to shoot zingers back at in hopes of sending over the edge into sheer frothy stress response. The merely stupid, but not so ugly, I tend to give something in the way of a thoughtful response.

You have to have a little levety when dealing with people that believe in organized religion. After all, Thomas Jefferson once said, “Ridicule is the only weapon which can be used against unintelligible propositions. Ideas must be a distinct idea of the trinity. It is the abracadabra of the mountebanks calling themselves the priests of Jesus”

Every once and awhile one of them will sting, sure. You just have to remember that a lot of the people that come on this site are here just to stir up trouble.
My motto- treat everyone with the understanding and respect that you wish to be treated with in return.

It gets a little aggravating at times to be persecuted and mocked because I am atheist. But,it's just the Internet, and I take comfort in the fact that if Jesus were real,I fit the description of a "TRUE" Christian. He said we would be the minority and persecuted. As this applies not at all to the "MAJORITY" Christians who ARE NOT persecuted in any way,I assume he meant people like me,the persecuted minority, are blessed. The (so called) Christians here will get spit on by Jesus for their hatred and intolerance. So,I don't mind fake Christians"mocking my belief"Jesus said it would happen, and they will earn the fate of the Pharisees

There is freedom of speech here. It doesn't bother me because I don't take everything so personally. I respect atheists and their opinions. If they can do it in a nice way, without insults. It's the hateful ones that are weird.

Your choice of words suggest that religion is not working too'
well for you. insult. belittle...verse attack.....This morning
when I arose we were still in America. It goes without saying
that most of us believe something different. Many religions
are so hard core that to not believe their particular brand of
Spirituality is to belittle their beliefs. Are you required to
not belittle what others may believe? Or is it allowed?
