I believe that it is a part of our heritage to hunt for meat. I am a meat hunter, but if I happen to take a nice trophy, all the better. I don't think it is any more cruel that what they do to beef or chicken. What i kill does not suffer long. I know the meat I take is fresh. If you think that it is wrong to kill for meat, become a vegan, but don't tell me how to life.

Don't think for one second that I get off on killing, I feel regret that i took a life. But I also know that I have given my family something to eat.

I think that several themes crop up with anti-hunters:
1. They believe Bambi is real (or other fictional work like Charolettes Web) and see animals as people.
2. They do not understand the circle of life. Just because they don't see the animal being killed, they are not guilty of killing it. So meat packaged in a store or purchased at a restaurant is not really from an animal.
3. We are more 'evolved' and see meat eaters and some kind of knuckle dragging cave dweller.
4. They do not understand the conservation efforts of hunters actually improves the herd and ecosystem in nature.
Some people just have too much time on their hands.

Ever notice the anti hunters are always hunting this forum looking for someone to drop.Must be a turn on for them while gobbling down a chicken leg or breast ,perhaps a piece of rump from off a big innocent wide eyed cow or piggy across their face. Seriously though the best part I like about hunting is the sightseeing etc. the kill is a bonus and a trip spoiler causing one to go back home to the so called normal life among the concrete, brick buildings and pretending to live, and heaving in a scattered party, get together in order to tolerate the lifestyle.

I'm with you. Unless these people are true vegans and don't use leather products or anything made with animals they have no credibility. Every year I plant winter grass that helps sustain the herd through the winter. In exchange, I take 1-2 deer to feed my family. The grass continues to feed the rest until spring when they no longer need it. Also, I am very selective with the shots I take (always in the heart or neck) so there is very little suffering. Compared to slaughterhouses that is very humane. I guess they think the meat they buy at the store comes from meat trees.

I agree. It's a shame that these people have nothing better to do with their time than to harass law abiding hunters. What's really ironic is that the majority of these people who are anti-hunting still eat meat that is killed and butchered in slaughterhouses, and most of them are also pro-choice. Go figure.
I believe most of them are an emotional train wrecks. They base their opinions simply on emotion instead of taking the time to research all of the good things that come from hunting and then forming an educated opinion. They fail to realize the harsh realities that mother nature hands out to the animals we hunt and how much worse it would be for them if hunters didn't play their part.

I agree 100% with you man, hunting is neccasary for the animal chain to cycle properly. My family and I have hunted for I don't even know how long. People who try to stop hunters from hunting simply do not know anything about it. It is more than a sport, it is a way of life for many people. I don't just shoot deer or anything else for the antlers, I get it butchered and we cook it and eat it as anyone who kills something should.

No matter whether it is plant or animal it has to be killed to eat it*.. Hunting is another means of eating or harvesting food and it is a renewable resource*.. Just because other people kill for you in order for you to eat , whether it is plant or animal or domestic or wild makes you culpable or an accessory to the killing even though you have never given it much thought or consideration*...Whether you are for or against hunting is not the issue*.. The disagreement over hunting has no credibility or validity and is total nonsense by those that object to it*..

It's about power. The power to impose ones views on others. It's not enough for some people to live their own life as they see fit. They feel they have to force others onto the same path. It's a silly human trait. And It's not just about hunting. It's lots of things.

God put man on the top of the totem pole for a reason. It is our responsibility to kill some of the animals so they have enough food for what is left and we can eat. People who don't want to hunt simply aren't responsible.

I enjoy hunting and people should have every right to. Unless someone is hunting out of season then i have a problem with it, but if all laws are followed there is no harm to it.

You're right.
Funny thing is, most of the people against hunting eat meat. Ironic, isn't it?
You shouldn't be allowed to eat meat if you don't have the intestinal fortitude (guts) to kill it yourself.
