Hi when we went to see the vicar he said he wanted £350 and apparantly it might go up a few pounds this year but it wont be much. I have changed my mind now and we are getting married in the hotel where were having the reception . But the best thing is to not set a budget before you have set the date yet as and then do it as you dont know who much he is going to charge you yet. My vicar told us that the prices inclueded the flowers for the church, but I dont think it did as these are very expensive, but you dont have to have church flowers if you dont want too.

it depends on the church. My local church was 350 pounds 7 years ago and held less than 80 people and they wanted more if you had flowers or music or wanted a bell rung etc. Another church wanted 100 pounds all in. You need to speech to the church office to find out costs and also whether or not the vicar or priest is willing to marry you.

My wife and I paid $250.00 for our church, but she was a member and we met with the pastor before we got married. They may charge you more if you're not a member, and I'm 99% sure you'll have to meet with the pastor/priest whether you're a member or not. An organist would have cost us an additional $100.00, but her nephew plays organ (heck, he got a music scholarship to the University of Michigan, so he's REALLY good) and she had other friends who sang. Most churches charge for those extras, so be prepared (and be prepared to put down the cost of the church right away for them to hold your wedding day).

Well, we got married in my church, and the cost for the priest was about $250, the organist was $250, and the cantor (singer) was $300. I don't think we had to pay anything for the church itself, since my mom and I are both members. I hope this helps!!!!

I live in a small city. I have been a local wedding musician for over 10 years...
The large methodist church here in town charges non-members $125. That does not include the organist. He has his own fee. My church (smaller congregation) asks for a love offering from non-members, for the use of the church and the minister's services.

I would say anywhere between $100 and $500 would be average. Definitly ask before you sign up. You don't have to come right out and ask but while talking to the priest, paster, or minister ask about the details of the arraingements. I go to the church of Christ and my minister did not charge anything to come to my wedding and marry us. I got married in the chapel in the hall. It was nice.

Well, technically, where I'm from, the church doesn't charge anything, but your expected to give a donation/gift of a few hundred dollars, really we all know it's a payment. You should ask other people who got married there or have children there for how much they 'donated'. It could be anywhere between 150 to 500 dollars.

Most are around $100. Some charge more depending on their size. One church we looked at - by the time they added their rental fee, cost for cleaning, and additional rooms was around $300.

my church is $475, which is the highest i've seen so far. my friend paid $350. oh, and if we're more than 20 mins late or we throw anything on the floor (rose petals, rice, etc) it's another $150 for clean up. also, if your Catholic you'll have to attend pre-cana. that can cost anywhere from $100-$300. good luck!
