Hi There

I have recently been made and offer that jointly start up a business, now before I carry on I am currently a full time student (and University) and am very dependent on that status. Now my question is that if I become a partner within the business will that nullify me full time student status? and is there anyway of avoiding loosing that status?

They are correct, "Full Time" is determined by the number of credit hours you take. Check with your academic counselor or look it up in the school's book of classes offered for the semester. Being of a cynical nature (and owning a small business), if I were you I'd be looking for the motive of why you've been asked to join in this business venture. Is it that they need your money or a talent that you possess? Do your homework before you get too heavily involved. I've seen a lot of good people go down the drain financially because they'd been offered a "partnership."

As long as you do not go below the number of required credit hours to be considered a full time student (Norm is a minimum of 12 credit hours or 4 classes @ 3 credit hours each) it doesn't matter how many hours you work or the type of work you are doing.

Isn't full time student defined by the hours taken?

as long as you keep the hours the university requires to be full time, it doesnt matter what you do on your own time.
