No Windows Media Player won't do it

No a Player doesnot have the ability to change the format of any files, it can read them but can't change them.
SOFTWARE affords you the ability to change the formats of different files. EXAMPLE: change VideoTS files to AVI files.
You need to ask this in the form of a Question to Google and it will give you the options of the Software that is available to do this. Some are free while others you pay for.

buy SONY SOUND FORGE or SONY VEGAS AUDIO softwares. These helps a lot. I use them on my song recordings.
