Why do you make such a generalized statement? Isn't this a bit ridiculous?
I don't fear yoga. Why would I? I fear trying to do yoga as my body isn't limber enough anymore, but that's different. ;)

I had a Christian friend who literally runs when the Hari Krishna believers hand out flyers on yoga and i asked her about her apprehension towards it.She said that yoga originates from Hinduism and no matter how much they claim that you do not necessarily have to enter a spiritual trance while doing it, its inevitably connected to that.

We do not fear yoga, I know Christians who practice a form of yoga as part of their quiet time with God. It is about what is happening during yoga and the historical purpose of yoga that gets some Christians upset.

Yoga, like meditation, is another method of focusing your spiritual energy on God.
All the prophets as well as Jesus ( ....remember 40 days on the mountain in meditation? ) practiced meditation and, I have no doubt, were practicing a form of yoga without calling it that.

They don't fear it! I know several Christians who practice yoga.
I think it's ridiculous for you to over-generalize and make false assumptions.
Your question is based on a lie. You make it seem as if all Christians fear yoga. THAT is what's ridiculous.

yoga is like opening a door to a spiritual world when you are blindfolded.
yogic people tell you that the human being has unexploited potential and you could make your "powers" (as they call them) grow until you become like buddha or jesus or any god..
i tried yoga, but now i am achristian and i stongly advocate against them.
its true that you get powers, but they are evil spirits operating around u and u dont realize it.
only when you see he light (through becoming a believer, a christian) and having the holy spirit indwell in you that you start being sensitive to the truth. and you know spiritually what you are dealing with.
i continued yoga after i became a believer, and that s when i knew something was wrong. i cant explain more but i advise to stay away from it, judging if not only by the 11 car accidents i had that one year (among many weird things that happened too).
bless you

I personally am very fearful of yoga. My fear is that if I do too much stretching my personal relationship with Jesus will be compromised.

It's crazy. We had a christian co-worker quit her job because the boss offered us all yoga classes once a week at work.

Well...Yoga can be spiritual. Therefore anyone inclined to fear anything that they deem different from their beliefs could fear Yoga.

It's actually a Hindu spiritual discipline. When we do it in America, it's just another kind of stretching.
