Why is it that so many of you try to emulate the Prophet (PBUH) in every single way except in the treatment of women? Why do you let your culture take the lead when it comes to how your treat your wives and daughters? The Prophet (PBUH) cleaned his own mess, served himself his meals, helped with the housework that needed to be done, and never once said that it was the duty of a woman to cook and clean. The men of that time also cooked, and Abu Bakr would even teach other women that did not know how to cook. Why are you so able to pray the way he did, eat the way he did, and otherwise quote everything else, but ignore half of the deen? Do you think you are busier than him, who had the hardest duty of anybody by delivering the message and defending the ummah? And please don't give me that sorry excuse that you are only human, because you seem to excel in prayer so start excelling in how women are treated. What do you say?

i 1000% agree with u and just to add few things and that is
he married to a widow of 40 yrs old. no muslim men follow this they all wants a virgin girl for a marriage. his whole life was a simple one. most of the time he was on fasting but todays muslims spend thousands on just one time food. he used to live a simple life where as todays muslims are living lavishly. spending thousands on their luxuries.

so point is muslims just follow his beard and the way he used to wear clothes. and not his actions

todays muslims just focus on praying and not focusing on real teachings of islam.

This is the matter after my own heart! I cannot agree more with you. One of the main reasons you would find many non muslims not attracted to Islam is the apparent treatment that Muslim men give to women. Helping with housework is one thing, I talk about more generic stuff. They do not even interact with their wife, mother, sister and other women on a human level. Its very sad. In my opinion, this has more to do with outside cultural influences into Islam. By the mercy of Allah, Islam itself is so attractive that people are attracted to it. Otherwise, we as muslims, hardly can claim any credit for putting up a real image of it to the world. Our treatment of women is one of our worst practices today (and I am not comparing today's muslim culture to western culture but to the actual Islamic teachings!)

The only words they have for women are "emotional", öf lesser intellect", "changeable" etc. And all the time nowhere in Islam you find this type of treatment of women. Its very degrading sometimes.

There is management term called "empowerment" which is essential for good management of any organization. It is this "empowerment" that they are afraid to give women.

Religion and culture are two different things. I think you are mixing them up.
I am Muslim and in ours is not like that as you are saying. For me it is cultural setup and distribution of work, as, if some one is not doing as I am doing, it doesn't mean he is wrong.
