different atheists believe in different things, but the one issue they share is that they don't believe in a God or team of Gods.

Karl Marx, Richard Dawkins, Sigmund Freud are some famous atheists.

Not all atheists believe in the same thing but the common belief (or lack thereof) that we share is that we do not believe in the existence of god(s).

A few famous atheists are Richard Dawkins (author of The God Delusion), Sam Harris (author of End of Faith and Letter to a Christian Nation), and Brian Flemming (member of the Rational Response Squad).

I'll name two and provide qoutes.

"The Bible is not my book nor Christianity my profession. I could never give assent to the long, complicated statements of Christian dogma."

- Abraham Lincoln, American president (1809-1865).

"If people are good only because they fear punishment, and hope for a reward, then we are a sorry lot indeed."

-Albert Einstein, German-born American physicist

An Atheist simply doesn't believe in a creator or divine deity. That's it, that's all. We still love, hate, laugh, cry, ponder (which is usually what made us become Atheists to begin with), joke, threaten, want, need... we do absolutely everything you do. We feel absolutely everything you feel. We do what we feel is right... because it's what feels right. Just because we don't believe there's a spooky invisible man judging everything we do doesn't mean that we're immoral people. We're Atheist, not a different species of animal!

I believe in the joy of life. I believe that Rayleigh scattering accurately describes why the sky is blue. I believe a two year old's smile can make a day better.
I believe a great many things, but none of them happen to be supernatural.
I'll name two infamous atheists: Josef Stalin and Pol Pot. Not that they did anything bad because they were atheists, they did bad things because they were twisted and deranged.

Themselves and their own ability to shape the world around them. We also believe in personal responsibility for humanities actions and not passing off irresponsible and tragic actions as the will of some divine power

Two Famous Atheists would be Albert Einstein and Samuel Johnson

Believe are base on statistic, experience, education, culture background, knowledgement, and side proven. For example: when we were young, we trust our parents, teacher etc(authority speech) Then we learnt from book, school examination(experience and side proven)Then we proof the rules.
We are not only according to one proof or a holly book said or an authority said. We need to go into the situation why the authority said and how the situation was. The other religious said and compare which is the best and why.
One is Buda, other one is Vasubondu who was written the senses sutras.

Well, Albert Einstein surely was not an atheist as many claim.
He was a Jew.

Stalin, of course, was an atheist. The most infamous one, at that.

Mao, was an atheist, no doubt, probably second only to Stalin
in the infamous category.

Atheists, of course, have no belief in a supreme being. True atheists are few and far between.

Hipp V asks, quote, "What do atheists beleive (sic) in?"

One, most of us believe in spelling correcting.

Two, you asked for the names of famous atheists--it's a long roster, Hipp. A few of us were Albert Einstein, Voltaire, Thomas Paine, Kate Hepburn, Steve Allen, most of today's major scientists. I'll compile a bit of a list and post it later today (Tuesday). Thanks for asking. Be well.

(Well, Hipp, reading what others posted, I see that you have your list of famous atheists, or I should say, a great many of us. There are tens of thousands in the USA, or more, and many, many millions in Europe and Asia.)
