It's very important to stay comfortable in the car. I suggest you bring an iPod and a pillow. You sleep for 8 hours and occasionally chat with the other passengers. Eat some snacks and drink juice. No orange juice please.
Games are boring. If you could, just bring a small notebook and a pen and just start writing about your life's momentous experiences.
And take out your camera too. Just incase you see something interesting.
OK... to sum up. Bring the following.
1. iPod
2. Pillow
3. Camera
4. Notebook and Pen
5. Food and Drinks and Paper Towel.

I say store up on as many different kinds of snacks as you can. Cheerios are great, if you have something to drink, chex mix, M&M's.
Food keeps you going on long trips. Don't forget a bit of drink too.
I like books on tape, they fill the time, I'd suggest turning it off in congested areas because it can be distracting.

If your car has a cassette or DVD player, check out a handful of audio-books from your local library. You'd be amazed at how time just flies by if you are driving and listening to an interesting book. Most libraries give you up to 3 weeks to return, so there is no rush. And even if you are going to be longer than that, they usually have a process where you can extend your check-out by telephone.

are you going with a group or friends. a really cool game is a bingo game.. with a twist. instead of numbers use different things you'd see on the road. like a license plate from a further away state. or roadkill, or daisies.. ect. once u see it, cross it off witha pen.
you could also make a cool cd with all of ur fav tracks. they also have travel music.. jus look

Music, bring a portable DVD player, laptop, get a converter that changes the cigarette lighter thing to a power supply. Utilize anything you can off the converter, TV, etc

LoL long trip, well you can burn cds so you can listen to...and also take a journal with you so you can write, or a cam so you can snap some photos......a dvd movie portable dvd player, food so you can eat...munchies! If you own a psp or game held device etc. take it w/....
