It's possible but it is more likely that any doctor would just act you questions like that outright. It is far mor likely that he/she is wanting to get to know his/her patient better. It sounds like you are a little self conscience about your behavior as you should be, I get sick of hearing comments like these. But I guess that's your business. I wouldn't worry about things like that, doctors are not known for being indirect, unassertive or underhanded about medical questions.

In this day and age, no doctor is going to assume that the number of years you've been married = the number of years you've been sexually active.
Don't worry. If the doctor had wanted to know about your sexual history, she would have had no problem asking. Those doctors really know how to put a girl under the gun!

It could be she was wondering how long you have had unprotected sex. Normally, if you are married, you don't use condoms, since it would be safe to assume you are monogamous.
I don't know the details, but that is what I get out of it. I think if she wanted to know how long you were sexually active, she would ask. I don't think there are any hidden questions there. She probably wanted the info for your chart.

He may just want to know if you are in a stable relationship, or are very sexually active with multiple partners, and yes, this is for your health, especially if you are trying to conceive!
I would ask him next visit, just say when you got home, you thought it a rather odd question for a ob-gyn to ask and that you wondered why she asked!
I think we need to realize that WE hire our doctors, they work for us, they are not some demi-god that knows all...feel free to ask questions, or to even ask why she is asking a question to you!
Ps..most in the female health do know that most are sexually active before marriage now, so I don't think this was the reasoning behind the question..

I wouldnt worry about it. Was your husband in the room, or recently in the room? Alot of women have sex without being married, and birth control can be used to regulate your period, etc. Maybe she was just trying to make you feel comfy with her. Hope your feeling better.

If your doctor wants information from you, it would be foolish to ask "hidden" questions.
To manage your health, he/she needs solid information that isn't going to become evident if you mind games with your medical history.
