I married him because I loved him
yes
unfortunately no, because some people rush into marriage and ignore the tell tale signs of a bad or simply a doomed relationship. You can't "change" people, issues that you find irritating don't fade away, and you have to be willing to work at making a marriage last and grow. Remember that old saying "Nothing good comes easy"?

Surely not.

I married my husband (37 yrs ago) because I loved him and wanted to spend the rest of my life with him. (Also because I was pregnant. haha)

I am more in love with him then when we got married.

No not ALL women are in love with their husbands. This forum has showed me alot about what is going on in the world today and it is really sad that so many are unhappy. I think they have the wrong expectations when they marry. Marriage is a give and take enterprise. People are too starry eyed when they get married. My husband and I knew what we were getting into and we worked though all of our problems TOGETHER. Of course, both partners need to have the same goals.

I'm not going to answer your questions precisely but generally. I married my husband because I was tired of him wasting my life waiting for him; no I don't love him; most women are in love with their husband's when they marry them, but circumstances can change that.

Seemed like a good idea at the time.
No.
Of course not. Most women get married because they want to get something from the guy. It's the guys who are sappy about "love" - not women. Women are calculating.

I married my husband 25 years ago. I love him even more today because we have stood the test of time.We have been through more together than we could have imagined. I think women today don't take marriage seriously. It's sad but, true. Marriage is what you make of it.
