Why is it that so many of you try to emulate the Prophet (PBUH) in every single way except in the treatment of women? Why do you let your culture take the lead when it comes to how your treat your wives and daughters? The Prophet (PBUH) cleaned his own mess, served himself his meals, helped with the housework that needed to be done, and never once said that it was the duty of a woman to cook and clean. The men of that time also cooked, and Abu Bakr would even teach other women that did not know how to cook. Why are you so able to pray the way he did, eat the way he did, and otherwise quote everything else, but ignore half of the deen? Do you think you are busier than him, who had the hardest duty of anybody by delivering the message and defending the ummah? And please don't give me that sorry excuse that you are only human, because you seem to excel in prayer so start excelling in how women are treated. What do you say?

As-salamu alikum sister. I am a man. And i will say this. Most men dont read the Quran, even if they do they do not understand the Inner meanings or try to understand. None of them would read any hadith that explained the beautiful relation between Husband and wife. Trust me sister Men in my country are religiously illeterate. Yes they pray but their prayers dont reflect in their daily lives. If they did, they would not be behaving what they behave towards women. I feel ashmed as a man too when i see my brothers acting like this towards their women. Yes i will help my wife cook and wash dishes with her, cry with her if she is sad, laugh with her if she is happy, when she is ill will take care of her. Why can't men be more gentle towards women i too ask that same question. Why do men think women are just like a toy to be played with. Why do the men not realize that it is the womens womb that he was born in. Why do we not think for a second why Allah created EVE (Haoa) the very first women. I request my brothers look into yourself..and the answer is in you. You can not exist without your other half, you can not exist without the women.
IF you still have doubt , please read the life of Mohammed(PBUH). Read how he treated his own wives and showed how we should treat our women and daughters.

My husband (Muslim) does help a lot around the house, but to be honest, he wasn't raised that way at all. I've seen his father many times just sit around while his mother slaves away at housework. This is very common in Morocco, where traditionally, women don't even get to eat with the family, just serve them.

You are right, Women wants their men to follow Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). We, men wants women to follow Fathima or Aysha (RA) who did all their works their own. Let's together follow the ways of our Nabi (pbuh) and not blame one another. By the way, I am a good cook for my wife. My little daughter loves my chicken special very much.

And also, might i add, the fact that women at our prophet's time were so good. Why dont they think how our prophet was with women? Our prophet didnt go round battering his wives or oppressing them etc.

I am a Muslim and i prefer womens with scarf (Hijab). and one thing that Islam has said womens to do Hijab and there is a reason behind this. No order Of Allah is without reason. Islam says to womens to use Hijab to gaurd their Modesty. And if you use scarf, You will find more respect and love. and it is obligatory for muslim womens to use scarf.

It's a religion. All religions hurt women, it's one of the ways they forced their evil wills upon the people. We will never be free of misogyny until we are free of religion.
