A very wise man once said that we would be able to distinguish a true religion from a false one by their 'fruit', meaning actions. So far the Islam religion has not born 'good' fruit as far as I'm concerned. I realize that in theory it is a good peaceful religion as is Christianity, and look what it has done in the hands of corrupt leaders like popes and Vaticans.

I'll tell you this much, that Y!A isn't the best place to start looking when it comes to Islam that's for sure (there is alot of ignorance here when it comes to Islam), but you definitely start by reading the Qur'an if you really serious. I mean giving that is paramount in Islam and all, peace.

I've read the Koran. It's just as violent as the Old Testament [you know, with that wacky Leviticus blathering rabidly about stoning anyone wearing red clothing].

So, I've discovered that the Koran and the Bible both have all sorts of lovely rules about who to kill and abuse and generally make life hell for. Lots and lots of violence to be found.

The difference is that most followers of Judeo-Christianity have realized in the intervening centuries that a lot of the violence decrees were based on the prejudices of the books' writers, and have subsequently discarded enforcing them.

On the other hand, Muslims refuse to evolve, and simply continue to take every single word literally. Just look at that awful man in England who was just found guilty of killing his own daughter and shoving her into a suitcase, because the damned Koran told him he could do so! Utterly obscene.

By the way, though I follow a lot of Judeo-Christian tenets, the only label I give myself is "humanitarian" rather than any religious-centric merit badge.

So if you have supposedly illuminating information about Islam to impart, why not do so openly instead of asking people to contact you? What, is there some sort of recruiting drive going on? Are you in the running for some fabulous prizes?

This reminds me of a recent cab ride I took. The driver was of Middle Eastern descent, and after only two minutes he starts chatting me up about Islam. I had a terrible headache, so I told him nicely I wasn't interested in talking about anything. He refused to relent. Even when I told him firmly that I had a bad headache and didn't want to talk about anything whatsoever, he refused to shut up. Oy, he was like a combination of Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, and Amway sellers! I finally ordered him to pull over, paid him, got out, called another cab on my cell phone, and called the first bozo's cab company and reported him.

Gee, and I was one of those people after 9/11 who countered people's knee-jerk reactions that all Muslims were not to be trusted. Looks like there's some truth to the old saying that "no good deed goes unpunished."

The truth is in Christianity. Jesus died on the cross for all your sins. Jesus committed blasphamy against the Jews saying "I am" to being called God. What prophet of God will do that? Not even Mohammed the so called prophet can do this! Jesus came for the sinner, and his grace was shown in Israel already and sat down on the right side of the Father (Allah) atonement has already taken place. Muslims strive no longer by empty deeds of men. Accept Jesus Christ today and know you can go to paradise a free person. Peace to all in Christ.

I tell ya what confuses me Rose. Muhamamd is suposed to be a prophet of
God right? A prophet of God surely must agree with God am I correct?
muhamamd did not speak directly to god as Moses did so Muhammad would have had to have God's written word to teach him prior to speaking with Gabriel else how would Muhammad know God?
Now this means befroe the Qu'ran Muhamamd had to have believed God through the words of the prophets and the word of God that was available to him during his long life before the Qu'ran.
We know that Muhammad did not believe Jesus was the Son of God and that Jesus was not crucified.
This must surely mean Muhammad did not follow the gospel we have now.
But we do know Muhammad believed Jesus was a prophet of God and Messiah.
Now what gets me is this...Where did Muhammad follow the written word of God that taught him this? If you say he learned this from Gabriel...well then what did this prophet of God believe before Gabriel? Was Muhammad a prophet of God with no way of seeking God's truth? We know he did not speak directly to God...and the word of God at the time was not in agreement with the teachings that Muhammad gives us in the Qu'ran...Now can a prophet of God follow God's word and not believe the word of God that is available to him and yet somehow follow God's word perfectly and know God without any written word and no direct word? Or did Muhammad follow a written word of God that was perfect and not corrupt that taught of all the prophets from both Old and New Testament and yet taught that Jesus did not atone for sin? Moses taught that a prophet of God must agree with God's word and the previous prophets of God...The word of God that was available at this time was the Bible and it did teach of the atonement..so are we to believe that Muhammad was a prophet of God and yet he did not follow the word of God? or are we to believe that a book exist in the lifetime of Muhamamd that taught all of these prophets and yet taught that Christ did not atone for sin and was not the Son of God?
Where is this book that taught Muhamamd this before the Qu'ran?
If you say there is no such book the you would have to agree that Muhammad could not have followed the word of God as he did not believe the word of God....If you say Muhammad followed an uncorrupt book that agrees with teachings of the Qu'ran and it was the true word of God I say where is this book? I say that there is no such book and Muhammad did not agree with the teachings of God's word and therfore could not have been a prophet of God.
