ok and lets examine what your saying here. you want someone to come to you and pay ....guide or near guide for a car? they wont do that from a dealer. how bout forgetting book and going to a paper to see how much they actually SELL for. try traderonline.com which is a national network of car classifieds. look up your car AS IF YOU WANT TO BUY IT and compare advertised prices. remember these are ask prices and often people make offers and buy them. price carefully and good luck.

The dumb yanks dont realise kbb isn't anything to do with the UK.

Price guides available to the general public like parkers etc are notoriously unreliable.

To value your car look at what advertising medium your thinking of using, eg autotrader, local paper or ebay etc and see what similar cars are being advertised at. Then value yours at a similar price.

Dont think yuur cars worth more just because you love it. Equally dont go and look at a car priced at way above what you are willing to pay. Most buyers and sellers expect to haggle on a small amount.

In addition to KBB, Edumnds has a ton of resources such as car pricing, insurance information and pretty good reviews. It is a pretty good source to start looking for a car and evaluating trade in value prior to stepping on the lot.

Try Autotrader- it's got dealer/private cars for old and new cars. If you're in your local newsagents there is a car guide with all the latest prices in for cars up to 5 years old (approx). I just can't think of the blimmin' name of it but it has a blue cover.....!!

Parkers.co.uk or glass's guide. They give you loads of information on how much to sell for and how much to buy for. Good luck
