Will you drink sewage water as it will provide you with nutrients?

In many cases, a study of the ecosystem shows the river is healthier just below the discharge than above. River critters need food also and many times, the "sewage" is a good food source. Of course the opposite is true also and sewage should not be added to a river for this purpose.

You could answer yes or No. When sewage is discharged into rivers it is used by bacteria as a source of food and the bacterial numbers increase. As they increases they use up oxygen from the water and this means there is less oxygen for larger organisms such as fish. In severe conditions the fish may die or move away from the polluted area. It is true that there are nutrients in sewage but these have to be released by breakdown since they are tied up in complex compounds. This breakdown is carried out by bacteria so you are back to the start.
