This to me should be an election issue. I would like to vote on this after all we have to live with this. Why should they decide this issue for us, apparently they don't care how anyone feels as they continue to ignore what is being said. Opinions please?

I demand a vote LOL I don't really have to deal with the Mexicans here in S Florida as much as I do the Brazilians, Venezuelans, and Haitians as we all know the Cubans have amnesty (wet foot dry foot). So it really goes for all illegal immigration, so I am not singling out the Mexicans on this one.

The country gets a supply of well educated cheap labour to help the rich get richer and our poor to get poorer. This is fact. Under Tony Blair, the gap between the rich and the poor has increased.
We also do very well from slaves. These are the illegals and refugees who have not yet had their status accepted. They have to work illegally to live. They thus work for slave labour wages and their employers do not pay tax or social security.
The government openly say that immigration is good for the country. It is. The immigrants work for peanuts. But is it good for the immigrants? And is it good for our own 'less able' citizens who cannot find jobs?
We are just building up future problems.

We do not have direct issue votes, by the electorate, at the federal level.
Every citizen gets to vote on their federal representatives.
..that's your chance to make your voice heard.
Stop voting for wealthy jerks & morons...That's how you make positive changes in public policy.

We're not a direct Democracy. WE're a Republic. We don't vote directly on national issue, but rather have our local and state representative tell them what we want.

You have a vote everyday, you vote with your money. Do you spend your money at places that put up signs in spanish? Do you shop at places that hire illegals? Have you called your reps in Washington?

ah sorry you don't understand you used your vote to put inthe people to decide for you.. someone once said they didn't vote me in to do what they wanted they voted me in to use my judgement.. so yes in a perfcet democracy you would be required to vote on every issue but it's not practical, if they had a referendum then they would ask you

You DO!
Call, write, email your congressmen and senators and make your feelings known!
That is the only reason this pathetic excuse for a bill is going to be thrown out!
DO IT! DO IT NOW AND DO IT OFTEN!
