"Why can't people respect other people's religion?
Im not offended when my fellow human eats his cat or dog .
Just as long as it is not pork. "
Yes, why is it you can't respect other people's religion?
It would be ironic if it wasn't so pathetic.

Basically most religious are the same. Treat others with respect, don't do evil etc.
But that is not were some religious people put there emphasis. They rather look at the difference, because they think that they are right, and others are wrong, and therefore they are better.

That´s a good question but the real question is who has authority to answer it because we all have our judgements. I think you are Muslim....right?
Anyway...with my experience with Muslims i find that they are quite respectful and i must say i don´t have anything against them as some of my friends and family are Muslim, but there are extremists who use Islam the wrong way and it´s not only in the Muslim world but i´ve noticed that it happens in catholic and christian societies as well. There are some Christians who used the word of God only to judge people, again...who are we to judge?
I´ve tried to research on Buddhism and i think it´s easier to meditate than to be confused.

You mean why can't people respect your religion...please say what you mean in future.
Your religion doesn't respect free speech...look what has just recently happened with more threats to Salman Rushdie.
Respect must be earned through actions it's no use demanding it.

Can you respect something if it is wrong. And can be shown to be so.
You can respect other people, and treat them kindly, but does that stretch to accepting their false beliefs?
Does a teacher respect the answer to a problem when it is wrong?
He can still respect the student but will declare the answer wrong.

Ususally, they dislike what they don't understand and are, therefore, unworthy of their respect, much less anything else.
What do you choose to be offended by that other people do, religious or not?

Religious people respect no-one who does not agree with them.
Religion simply does not deserve respect. So its not surprising it does not offer mutual respect.
