"by their own logic they tell me that all men are sinful, how do I know that he is not being a sinner when preaching?"
You answered your own question. Man = sinner. Therefore, s/he is, too.
Keep your hand on your wallet and your wits about you.

Don't trust preachers. Read the Bible for yourself and do some research on your own regarding the archeological backup and history of the book. Then pray and ask God Himself if He is real. God reveals Himself to people all the time in many different ways. He knows you thoroughly and will do exactly what needs to be done to convince you that He is indeed real. This is why it's called a personal relationship. Seek it out and you will find it.

You are to trust God, not the preacher. He is human, and still capable of sin, just as we all are. He will present God and Jesus to you the best that he can. He has probably a great deal of knowledge and God, through His Spirit, often uses people like the preacher to help others. The decision is and will always be a matter of your own free will. No one else can do this for you. It is a spiritual matter, one that you should be done with personal soul searching and prayer. When in doubt, read the instructions... and ask others.

Bro, its not the preacher that you put trust in, It suppose to be Jesus that you put trust in. Have faith in God that he will put it in the heart of the preacher to speak truth.
Many have itching ears and dont want to hear the truth and rather hear a lie, I pray that when the preacher tells you about Jesus that he speaks truth and that you KNOW WITH ASSURANCE that he is speaking the truth. You have to study for YOURSELF, This is very important because most people dont study but only go by what the preacher says and their understanding is mild because they dont know what the bible says for itself. Listen to the preacher & study. God bless

You can listen but at the end of the day its what you think and believe that really matters. Each person have their own belief in God. I do and mine is just bascially simple its my faith that keeps my belief alive really. B\c there are alot of things same preachers would say that I disagree with but yknw each to their own opinon I say. Basically the best way to get your own opinon would be to read the bible and see where that takes you cause thats the only way you'll see the truth how you want to see it.I grew up in the Mormon church and there are alot of things that they say that I disagree with now that Im older and my religion is plain and simple which is my faith. And thats it really I knw its plain but to me thats all I need which is to knw that he is there and believe he is there and thats my belief.
To me each religion has their quirks as well as flaws but you learn as you go really.
Good Luck finding what it is you need and want. ^_^
God bless ^_^

You don't know. It's not the point, the point is he or she is talking about your salvation, not their own.
Get a "red letter edition" Bible. Read everything in the New Testament in red letters. You can't go wrong. The rest is dogma, doctrine, and inexplicable prophecy.
Read what Jesus says and not some guys interpretation of what he said.

If I tell you that Christ loves you… should you take my word for it? The answer is no! For all you know, I could be lying to you. Or even worse, I could be repeating a lie that’s been passed down for centuries. The entire Bible could be a made up story written by lunatics. How can you know whether Christ’s love is true? There is only one way to know. You must ask Him yourself. Get down on your knees and pray. He will tell you. In His own way He will let you know.

You should decide who you trust very carefully. You have to decide for yourself what makes you trust or distrust any person in your life - mainly that would be personal experience with that person. When it comes to Jesus - read the bible for yourself and other writings related to Christianity and decide for yourself if it is trustworthy and believable or not.

You are not supposed to trust preacher nor any man but in the Truth that he or any man should be preaching.
It's not "who is right but What is right"
So Trusting in the Jesus Who Is Right and The Righteousness of God to Man is Right.
Beleives in Jesus not the preacher man, man!

Better question: "Why should you believe the bible?" Just because some dudes wrote it 5000 years ago in an age of ignorance and mysticism?
You sound like a smart questioning kid. Question everything, really look into it, you may find that the whole religion make very little sense.
