If love only means the warm fuzzy stuff, then you might have a point. Have you never experienced having to tell somebody you care about something they really didn't want to hear? Nobody wants to say the hard-to-hear stuff. Actually, some of the things you guys accuse Christians of hit awfully close to the mark sometimes! Christians can be unforgiving and hypocritical. No sense in denying it. I'm a Christian and I sure have those moments when I have committed those sins.
I do wish each of you peace and love. I also wish there was someway I could make a connection and somehow get you to understand what it is we're talking about.

George Carlin perfectly summarized this glaring dichotomy at the heart of the religion of 'peace & love".

"Religion has actually convinced people that there's an invisible man -- living in the sky -- who watches everything you do, every minute of every day. And the invisible man has a special list of ten things he does not want you to do. And if you do any of these ten things, he has a special place, full of fire and smoke and burning and torture and anguish, where he will send you to live and suffer and burn and choke and scream and cry forever and ever 'til the end of time! But He loves you."

You may think they are being hypocrites, but they are not. They still sin, just like everyone else, and will probably be the first to admit it. The only difference is that they have been forgiven, and know that the only way you can be saved from hell is through Jesus Christ. It is your choice to believe this or not, and we will not try to threaten you do something you do not wish to do. We will warn you though, because we do love and care about people. If they say they will pray for you, they probably will. Do you think they like being ridiculed for trying to help you? They care and are sincerely trying to tell you of the peace and love of God that they have found.

Like this or not:
No true Christian would dream of threatening anyone with
eternal damnation, bodily harm, social isolation, or anything else. The only true Christian message is love. Tireless, indefatigable, boundless love. A true Christian sings the praises of their loving God, but threaten? Never.
Beware ersatz "Christians"---God knows a poser when He's looking at one.

Not religion HawaiianBrian, but FALSE religion. False worshippers of God, aka counterfeit. Read Moises3702's answer again. Jesus himself said there would be fake Christians.

Well now, they do explain most of the time that it is your decision to go to hell .. that God gave you your chance ... so of *course* they wish you Peace and Love. Yeah, right. Like when they say they will pray for you. I'm fairly certain not one of 'em ever knelt down and prayed for me after telling me they were pretty sure I was going to burn in hell.

CORRECTION! Counterfeit Christians may tell you that but the Bible hell is not a place of fire & torment but mankind's grave and if the Creator says he would not even consider doing this (eternal torture) on a temporary basis, how could he be accused of eternal torment. Jeremiah 7:31: "And they have built the high places of Tophet, which is in the valley of the son of Hinnom to burn their sons and their daughters in the fire which I COMMANDED NOT neither came it into my heart".

OTHER REFERENECES: Job asked to be hidden in sheol
(hell). Actually a place of concealment; and you can understand why. Job 14:13: "Who will grant me this, that thou mayst protect me in HELL, and hide me till they wrath pass..."
Catholic Douay Version

"O that thou wouldest hide me in the GRAVE, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until they wrath be past...." Authorized Version

"Oh that thou wouldest hide me in SHEOL, that thou wouldest keep me secret, until they wrath be past..." American Revised Version.

And consider the account of Jesus being in HELL Acts 2:27:
"Because thou wilt not leave my soul in HELL, ..."
Authorized Version

"Because thou wilt not leave my soul in HELL ...Catholic Douay Version

"Because thou wilt not leave my soul unto HADES, .." (Greek for grave)American Revised Version

Just another example of Xtian-speak:
"God loves you" which means "No, no, not you"
"I'll pray for you" which means "F you" and
"You're going to hell" which means "But I don't LIKE reality!"
