I'm anti-social and depressed as well... I work in a supermarket behind the customer service desk. It has become a second home to me. You should find a place with people who are fun to be with. I pretty much hate people... but I've made awesome friends at work. They have to deal with the same crap I have to deal with, and in between screaming at customers, we have a hell of a lot of fun. All jobs are stressful... hey... it's work! Just look for something with flexible hours so that you can take days off when you need time alone. Having great coworkers is the only way you'll feel great at work. I'm surprised because work brought out a whole new side of me. I think the only time I smile and enjoy myself is at work, which is ironic.

I've known a few people who are depressed, and not particularly social. Now that I think of it, BOTH were accountants which is a pretty solo profession.
Sure, there are some times when there are public encounters, but they're usually short-lived. Accounting is a VERY flexible, position to be in. If you want to work on that tax return in the middle of the night in your jammies, no one is there to stop you.
One of the people began his own accounting business and in spare times, went to garage sales and bought things to sell on e-bay.
The other person worked at a deli in a grocery store; yep, there was people contact, but it was minimal and he enjoyed his coworkers.

Security Guard
They have all sorts of hours for you to work.
Most sites you do not have to interact with the public. For example, construction sites. You are there because they aren't and they need someone to watch their property.
Get into a security sompany that specializes in commercial or constrution type security. These sites are less likely to have people around.
You must get a guard card to work security. Some companies will help you get one, other won't. To get one in California, on your own, go to this website.

This is not a high paying job, but if you're going to school, you can do your homework at work. =)
If your not in California, hopefully that site will help direct you in the right direction.

WOW! you sound like a friend of mine. She works 3rd shift, she is a night auditor at a resort. Boy, does that place rely on her. She really likes her job. It is quiet, she is mostly alone, she is able to read, be on the computer, get paid well. And every hotel needs one or three. I hope that helps.
