My friend suggested I put a plant on my desk and get her to help water it. If you think that's a good idea, what plant should I choose? I don't want it to be too gay.

take her watering can and dump the water all over her and yourself. then go:
"lets you and i go to my apartment and get out of these soaking wet clothes."
if she denies your advances, then go:
"what? you thinking i was waiting my whole life to date some plant waterer? seriously... i don't even like you."

I'm not a gardener, but I believe that is depends on the atmosphere of the office and area which you work and live in. Go with your friends Idea and when you do and when she is close by your office desk or whatever, formally introduce your self, even though she might know you, maybe you've never actually spoken to her in a persoanl level. Let her know/notice that you notice her, not that she notices you.....make her feel that you think she's not something, but someone, and not just someone but special. Ask simple questions, and compliment her as well, you know what to say when you see her. Good luck

Talk to her. Go ahead and get a plant. Maybe you can talk to her about plants. Are you interested in plants? And is she? That might not even be a topic she cares about. But it's a reasonable place to start.

Or maybe a dozen Roses!!! Don't fill them up with too much water, that way you can tell her that they need some water. Then you can ask her how to keep Roses alive for a long time, then after, you can give her A Rose from your dozen!! Then the next week you can bring in another dozen of maybe sunflowers or tulips, and keep giving her one every time she waters your flowers!! She'll keep coming back to water your flowers!!!

Confidence my man. Women like a little ego but not to much. It really is a hard mix to get just right. The best way to get someones attention is being direct. Talk to her. Ask her about herself and if that goes well ask for her #. Of course you really should think about trying to date people that don't work with you as if she rejects you it will be awkward for both of you at work. Good luck and just talk to her and get her talking to you.

say how pretty she is, she glows in the sunlight when she waters ur plants, overwhelm her and she will be yours if shes single :D

Dress up as a petunia, and wait until she comes near you to water you, then grab her hand, go down on your knee, and tell her how you feel!
