Jehovah's Witnesses do not doubt the power of the holy spirit. They believe that it is entirely possible for a godly human to receive divine assistance with any health situation affecting his service to God and Christ. However, the Scriptures plainly teach that miracles (such as healings) had a particular purpose which would not continue indefinitely.
The apostle Paul explained that the written Scriptures were a source of credibility for true worship. Paul also explained that the miracles of Jesus and the apostles proved God's involvement in this new form of worship, which was especially loving since some things contradicted the replaced Mosaic Law.
(Hebrews 2:2-4) The word spoken through angels [or "the Mosaic Law"] proved to be firm... [Christian salvation] began to be spoken through our Lord and was verified for us by those who heard him [especially the apostles], while God joined in bearing witness with signs as well as portents and various powerful works and with distributions of holy spirit according to his will
Paul referred to the miracles as "gifts" given to the early congregation, and connected them with the "partial knowledge" of the incomplete Christian Scriptures (the so-called "New Testament"). Still future was the time when the Christian Scriptures would take primacy over the existing Hebrew Scriptures (the so-called "Old Testament"), once their writing was completed. At that yet-future point (Paul wrote) the miracles would cease except for gifts of the holy spirit which Christians continue to enjoy.
(1 Corinthians 13:8-13) But whether there are gifts of prophesying, they will be done away with; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether there is [miraculous] knowledge, it will be done away with. For we have partial knowledge [which relies on miracles for credibility] and we prophesy partially; but when that which is complete arrives [that is, the complete bible], that which is partial will be done away with. ...At present I know partially, but then I shall know accurately even as I am accurately known. Now, however, there remain faith, hope, love, these three; but the greatest of these is love.
(Galatians 5:22-23) The fruitage of the spirit is love, joy, peace, long-suffering, kindness, goodness, faith, mildness, self-control. Against such things there is no law.

They used to.....when Jesus sent his disciples out to visit different areas to preach they didn't have the scrolls to refer to. They had a codex...a shortened version of the scriptures. This was a new thing they were teaching. The Jewish way now was almost obsolete. So to get the peoples' attention and to bring honor and glory to Jehovah God Jesus gave them the gifts of miracles. They could heal, speak in tongues, raise the dead, and cure the sick. But these gifts died out when the disciples died.
This was a fore gleam of what the "Kingdom" would bring.
Today we are waiting for that "Kingdom" we all pray for in The Lords Prayer.
That is when Jesus will heal the sick, raise the dead, bring the earth and mankind back to perfection.
One more thing to note is spontaneous remissions do occur.
Some seem miraculously cured. It is not time yet for Jesus to do that. He will do it on a global scale soon. After the great tribulation and Armageddon when Jesus rules for 1000 years.

of course we believe that, in fact in our convetion "Follow the christ" one of the preach was how Jesus heal us and will do it in the near future, was the saturday meeting.
Jesus will heal all illness as soon as he begin his reign over the earth (Revelation 5:10) but now the hundreds millions of sicks and amputees and people with AIDS and people that died has only one chance God´s kingdom, until that time nobody can bring people back from dead or restore the hand of an amputee.
Jesus can´t heal nobody now cause Satan is Ruling this world (1 John 5:19) he will not going to help Satan´s kingdom, he can do it but won´t do it, for that reason, it would be unfair to heal one and left the rest in a poor condition, he will fix all problems at once.

I'm not Jehovah's Witness, but I know several people who are. They believe that above ALL else. They will not take a blood transfusion or an organ donation. They believe that if they are to be healed, it will be through Jesus Christ.
I have a dear friend who is of this faith who has made me her Medical Power of Attorney. In a case where she cannot make her own decisions, I make them for her regarding her health. She has instructed me on these issues based on her beliefs.
If you want to know what a certain faith believes, open your phone book and look them up and attend their services. Don't state "facts" when you don't have ALL the facts.

To me, the petty squabbles of christians serve as further proof their god is not real - or he just has a very difficult time explaining himself clearly.
