we use the New World Translation, i have a collection of Bible's I do like the Kings James version to, and the only different are that, the King's Jame's version has taking God's name out, if you have one that's about 50 years old you'll notice that God's name is still in there, in the original Greek, Hebrew and Aramaic Scriptures, God's name was in there over 7,000 time's and not one of those times did it say to take his name out, and that's what the new king's James version has done, they chafed it all to lord and Lord and God,, when it should say Jehovah or YHWH, JHVH,, how disrespectful, our God Jehovah did not tell anyone to take his name out. the other thing is that the king's Jame's version really favor's the trinity, which is a false doctrine to begin with.allot of words in the Kings James version have been mistranslated, so off curse that was fixed, and some verses are missing because, Those verses, found in some translations, are not in the oldest available Bible manuscripts. Comparison with the other modern translations, such as The New English Bible and the Catholic Jerusalem Bible, shows that other translators have also recognized that the verses in question do not belong in the Bible and added to the text being copied by a scribe. When i was fiest studying the Bible with Jehovah's Witnesses, i had a few bible's when we'd read a scripture i would look in all the copy's , the study did take a little longer, but hay, and when something sounded differnt from main stream religon we wnt to the libriary, we wnted to make shore it was the truth, in fact we tried to prove it rong, but we couldn't , it was the truth, and were happy we found it, every orgument that our family had could be proved rong, mostly because they didn't research anything they got false info from people who dislike Jehovah's Witnesses with a passion,people who just believe whatever there best friend say's. any way i love the truth. it is the truth and it will provail, everyone will see very soon. 2Timothy3 :1-5, Matthew24:1-51 it's the entire chapter, read take it in and listen, this spell check is taken to long so sorry for the mispelling's if any.

The witnesses use the New World Translation because it is written in modern day english and it has the personal name of God in every place it originally appeared in the original bible manuscripts. However, the truth about what the Bible really teaches can be taught using any Bible translation. Just ask me a question and I can give you an answer that can be found in any translation. I say that because people that oppose Jehovah's witnesses often accuse the witnesses of having their own translation as if that somehow alters what the Bible really teaches. If you have an older King James Version, they left God's name in the following texts Psalms 83:18, Exodus 6:3, and Isaiah 26:4. In the new King James Version, they have completely taken out the name. When I go out in the ministry, I carry a King James Version with me for people that prefer that one and a New World Translation so they can see that the Bible the Witnesses use is no different exept for the use of Jehovah's name and the modern English that it is written in.

We use the New World Translations of the Holy Scriptures for the most part, but references several different bibles constantly.

If you check historically there have been some errors in the King James translation. One such is taking Jehovah's name out of the bible and in it's place putting in Lord. Lord is just a title, and then causes confusion as to who it is talking about. Is it talking about Jehovah, or is it talking about Jesus or is it talking about someone else. For those who feel that the New World Translation was translated based on bias to fit our believes. This is not true, what we feel the bible teaches, was reached through use of the King James and other translations of the time. The New World Translation was not completed until 1961. Jehovah's Witnesses certainly like NWT, but they are happy to use any translation which an interested person may prefer, and in fact Jehovah's Witnesses themselves distribute other translations besides NWT. Jehovah's Witnesses attach no particular infallibility or inspiration to NWT.

The "New World Translation Committee" which oversaw the translation work request anonymity 'en perpetuity', and are likely all dead since the primary work was completed 45 years ago. Guesses at specific names have always been merely guesses. Since the same manuscripts used by the NWT translators are still widely available for study, and since there are dozens of alternate translations for comparison, anyone who chooses to use NWT does so informedly.

It seems that the vast majority of the criticism against the New World Translation is actually as a proxy for blind hatred against Jehovah's Witnesses. The hatred must be "blind" since secular experts of biblical Hebrew and Greek have consistently refused to condemn any particular verse or phrase as an unacceptable translation. Instead, it is religionists with preconceived theologies who bigotedly insist upon particular wordings, since these are necessary to prop up the shaky tenets of their false worship.

A note to a few people: the 'Watchtower' is based on the JW interpretation of the Bible...they view the 'Watchtower' as a study aid...the Bible is paramount to them.
