My boyfriend just graduated from high school and I have no idea what to get him. He's commuting to college next year so I can't get him anything for a dorm room and I want to give him something more special than money. Does anyone have any ideas?

depends on how much money..
i work at a gift giving store called things remembered..
we engrave special gifts for special occisaions,
things that he didn't receive for graduation would be nice..
a tassel holder pops to mind, i graduated in 2004, my tassel was so special to me, it hung on my hat, the hate from the outfit that i hada wear proving to the world that i made it, yet the question of where to put it spring to mind, a holder is a wonderful idea..the one we sell at our store has a photo which is ideal, because i know at my school we took a photo of us getting our diploma shaking the hand with the head princle, oh yeah..nice photo! along side your tassel from the event, with an engraved tag with his name, school name, and grad date(because honestly, we recall the year we graduated, just not the exact date) makes it even better!
you can also give him something for his photos, like an album, a nice frame to put a photo of the two of y'all in seems to be nice.
you can also give him a really nice ink pen, his name engraved on the actually pen, so that when he does his school work far away from you, he can remember you, also maybe a money clip, key chain, bracelet..once you sit down and think, there are so many thoughts..
maybe even a scrap book of things y'all did, photos, songs, lots of thing that are special to the two of y'all..tons of ideas!

I'd want nothing more than just spending time with my girl celebrating the big milestone. But your boy might be different. If he expects a gift, get him a CD or DVD that he's been raving about and go watch it or listen to it with him. I'm sure you can't go wrong there.

I'd recommend like some graphic tees, maybe a soda or something that he likes to eat or drink, or even just take him out to dinner to celebrate. Anything you get him, I am sure he would love it... And about what that guy up there said? FORGET THAT! EW!

if he likes jewelery silver or gold you can get a nice braclet for him and get it engraved on the inside. or perhaps a nice watch and engrave something on the back for him.

If he likes cufflinks for special outtings you can get something with his entials on them. I don't know how much your thinking of spending on him. but those are a few ideas
