You know, when I was younger my mom told me that girls who are virgins give off a certain 'aura' that makes them more mysterious and special. I never believed her till about a year ago when i was 19 and looked around at my friends. My virgin friends DID give off this kid of 'goodness' aura. Not like a goody-goody aura, but an aura that made them a bit more beautiful and radiant than their non-virgin peers.
I don't know if it was because there was a true aura or if it was because I respected these girls for saving themselves for someone who truly loved them.
Regardless, virgins really do have something phenomenal.
It's harder to keep virginity than to lose it. I've got a gorgeous bf who's been asking for it, but I feel like he doesn't deserve it yet. So, trust me, I KNOW how hard it is to keep your virginity.
Besides, all those girls having sex will lose it to someone who barely gives a damn about them. What will the guys do after they get what they want? They leave. Young girls think that sex will make guys stick around. Yeah, maybe for an extra month or two. After he gets bored with you, he'll leave to find someone else to have sex with.
This is the truth. There's no way around it.
When your body matures faster than your mind, this kind of thing happens.
I'm 20 now and ALL the girls who started having sex at 13/14 ALL either had babies or had abortions. That means that they're either: Mothers even before their 21st birthdays or murderers.
On a tangent:
All you pro-choice ladies--why don't you CHOOSE to use protection so that you don't have to abort your child? If you're gonna spread your legs, then at least be smart and use protection. Make your own mistakes without having to kill an innocent life to mask the consequences of your mistakes.
If you're gonna have sex, go on the pill and tell your dude to wear a condom.

personally, i think the whole virginity and purity concept is over rated. i first was ....ya know...at like 17 and i as with the guy 2 years prior and i don't think i was too young. i am now 27 and married and have had 3 partners in my life. i think if i had saved myself for marriage i would feel like i hadn't experienced my youth. you are only young once, i am not saying that the 1st shouldn't be special. and by no means am i saying to run out and have sex with every guy you see. i just feel like in the grand scheme of things it isn't as big a deal as it would seem and as long as you protect yourself and i mean physically and emotionally and you are responsible i really don't see anything wrong with not "saving yourself"

You are still special after you lose your virginity. It's all about how you carry yourself, if you are being responsible. and who you are having sex with. As long as you still respect yourself then you're okay. I agree that 13 is too young but when you are old enough to make that decision, it is your choice. Don't be so high and mighty and try to judge people. Maybe you just haven't found that "special someone" who you want to give yourself to but others have.

To a lot of girls, losing their virginity means that they're older. A lot of them do it because they feel they have no choice. I know a lot of people who just, "gave it away" because they felt they had to. Now whether or not it's worth it...I don't know. It depends on the person. If you're certain that you're ready, and they're ready, then I don't see why age should be an issue. It's more personal than that.

I have no true idea. I have been in my relationship with my boyfriend for 4 years, and we have only held hands. I am 18, and still a happy virgin. Some people have little respect in themselves, think it's cool, or just want to experience new things. Your virginity is a huge thing, and it's great you understand that. Just some people don't, and only regret it later.

Sex does not make you look older, sex makes you think you look older and then you go out and do stupid things.
But you are right, being a virgin is a very special thing and should be held onto as long as possible.

sorry virginity is nothing special --- however it is much better to wait until you are emotionally mature so that you can handle the feelings that come with getting close enough to someone to want to have sex with them ---- and that varies with everyone --- the guys take much longer to mature than the ladies ---- sex is more than a physical act and you need to be able to handle that as well ---- best wishes

Sex is the only way you can lose your virginity. So I don't understand the question. Those people aren't losing their virginity, they are losing their dignity and self worth.
