I recommend that you download & save it to your computer,
It is in pdf format..

The diagram showing you where to find your master code is on page 143.

Under the dash, Just left of the brake pedal you will find the main controller. It's a silver box with 2 long plugs with at least 20 wires in each. On the side of the box, there will be a sticker with writing on it. Look for the 4 numbers after the prefix "C-" This is your door code. Once you have this number, punch it in then hold down the 1/2 and the 3/4 buttons for 2 seconds. Within the next 5 seconds, enter your own 4 digit number. The controller will then work for both numbers as long as the battery doesn't go dead or is disconnected. Then it reverts to the permanent number only.

The Fords keypad code is registered with the the origonal owner and the Vehicle Identification Number for security and anti-theft. Your local dealer should be able to trace it for you and for a fee change it to your name and reset the code. Be sure to take your proof of purchase with you and your seller's info. While you're there you might want them to check for any recalls also.
Good Luck with your new vehicle!!!!

look under emergency roadside repairs in the owners book for the location
added:
it's either on the side of the computer, and or in the back behind the water reservoir by the jack out of view.(where I found mine, on 97 Explorer)
