I go to church every Sunday, but fully acknowledge my relationship with God needs major work. My fear is that I won`t fix my relationship with Him to his satisfaction and end up in Hell as a result. Because of that, I fear death.

I think most people fear death, i know i do, maybe a little too much, but God is a good God, he loves his children and wants the best of all of us, and i must say that it is great that your concerend...but you have to act on this..it is not enough to just go to church on sunday God requires much more out of us(the whole bible was not written just to say go to church, that would only take a page,hehe..God gave us a consious and this is what sounds like is bothering you. I know alot about the bible, well at least i am always trying to learn about the bible.... and i dont belive in hell. I belive that there are serveral different translations of "hell" from hebrew( which the bible was written in) and english 4 to be exsact, and most of them are not burning...the burning one is to describe enternal disruction which fire creates which is what the devil will receive..... if you would like to know more...please email, i would be happy to help you with your fears..and i totaly understand..

Isn't it just a waste of time and emotion to fear death? It is going to happen. There is no way to prevent it. You and I will die.
Should you fear going to heaven or hell? Is it within your control to decide where you will go or is that God's decision?
There are some things that you just have to turn loose and let them take care of themselves.
As an atheist I do not fear death, heaven or hell. Death is a part of the natural process of life. Heaven and hell are myths designed to keep people in line through fear.

Fear is natural, and since fear is natural, it is part of His design. God does not have a record book that decides whether or not you go to hell, he will not send you there if you're off by a decimal point.

God does not send people to hell, God only forgives and hopes that you will save yourself by asking for his forgiveness.

If you feel that your relationship with god suffers, you must pray. Deep down, you know what you feel guilty about, and you will be redeemed if you ask for it.

You ensure your place in Heaven simply through prayer and requesting god's forgiveness.

ur right, u wont fix ur relationship with God with that mindset. Lift up your eyes to the hills, your help come from the Lord, the maker of heaven and earth. U have made a step by realizing your problem, but now u need the solution. As long as u love Jesus and aknowledge him and accept his word, u will be saved.

Well its ok to fear death 90% of people do im not religous but jewish in blood, and yet i fear death more than life the thing is what is the difference between heaven and hell, the thing constantly going through my head is, what does it feel like to be dead, then i realize it doewssnt, jsut thinking that brings me instant fear that everything on earth will die. Now back to heaven and hell, It is said that in ell you are forever tortured and in Heaven forever pampered, now eventually in heaven yo would get bored and would want to, i dunno cross over to see what hell is like. so the thing is (even though i dont believe in any of this) can god punish you for what he made himself? and what is the true difference between heaven and hell

In short, No dont worry enjoy heaven or w/e but like i said hell isnt very different

I don't beleive in hell, my interpretation of the bible when refering to HADES is talking about eternal death. Which means you will not burn in hell, you will just cease to exist. I feel the true meaning was perverted in the churches to scare people into submission, which goes against GODs principal of freewill. No human is without sin, learn what sin is and work continuously because you want to be closer to GOD, not because your afraid of going to hell. That is the whole purpose of the bible not to scare people half to death. : )

This is normal in every christian's life. Being christian, you are suppossed to fear God and his punishments; but, you are also to acknowledge that God forgives you for whatever you ask it for. There are consequences for each of your actions; but they don't go past you life here on Earth, unless you don't ask forgiveness for them. This is why Jesus died.

Fear is a lie of the devil. He uses it to get you to doubt yourself and God. God wants you to have no fear.
Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid -John 14:27.
