There were several children at the theater Saturday night for the 9:30 pm show. They cried, the parents popped them (um, which just made them cry more) and then the parents just sat there! A couple of people said something to them, but they didn't leave! I think kids under 7 should not be allowed in the theater after a certain time! My husband and I paid $20 to watch the movie, not to listen to kids cry! What do you think?

I tried to find a manager - but he/she wasn't around - probably in another theater dealing with other parents!

I agree - I think it's up to the movie theater to police that better. most have a policy of no kids under a certain age after 6pm in moives (other than G films).

I have left the theater and demanded, loudly that they refund my money. They find the manager pretty quickly then!
And I agree, young children should not be at the movies for the late show. I have 4 and would never have considered it, not matter how desperate for a night out I might have been! So I don't feel badly complaining or demanding my money back when my expensive movie time is rudely interrupted!

Most likely they probably didn't have a sitter. I hate to hear crying kids in the theatres too. Here they have a special times during the days to bring your child with you to a movie. I guess the only thing you can do is complain to management.

I agree with you. People need to be more considerate of the people around them. Kinda like when they let the little kids run al over at the store.

If they have no one to watch their child/ren at night, they should rent movies and watch them at home. Another alternative would be going to weekend matinees--they're cheaper, anyway, and other kids are at those. That's what my husband and I did when the kids were small. We would never think of bringing them at night--particularly a weekend night!

I think you should get Netflix, a bowl of microwave popcorn & the beverage of your choice & enjoy a movie in the privacy of your home. I stopped going to theatres because of children, rude adults, (cell phones, etc). You might have to wait a few months for the DVD, but it's worth it.

I completely agree.
Those poor folks probably couldn't stand one more minute of Barney and Sesame Street. They just HAD to get out of the house.

Parents who take their infants or toddlers out this late at night, when it is not medically necessary are just idiots! it is that plain and simple. They are thinking of no one except themselves. IT is just like those stupid parents who take their babies to local fairs or carnivals it is stupid to do that...find a baby sitter. We did not start taking out child to places like this until she was old enough to ride the rides, but you will see people with babies as little as 2-3 weeks old...makes no sense to me.
