Apply ice to numb it or apply constant pressure where the itch is occurring.
Whatever you do, don't scratch it! It will take longer to heal that way, and chances are, the itch will last longer.

Have you tried rubbing it? The itching should only last about a day (maybe two) it will depend how bad the burn is. Try chilled aloe. Just put it in the freezer. Also try a cool shower. The coolness should sooth the burn and itch. The one remedy I have been told that helps the itch is vagisil. I have never put it on but I know someone who claims its good for the healing sunburn. The cucumber suggestion is also very good. Good luck.

sounds crazy but I doo this for my son who get really bad sunburn and my friend has started doing it too and swears by it!!! 1/4cup aloe gel (big bottle at wal-mart) 1/4 cup honey (helps heal and seal and disinfect) 1/4 cup sea or rock salt (baking isle next to regular salt sometimes cheaper) 1/4 cup heavy cream or coconut milk. Mix it all together in a bowl and pour into tub of really warm bath water while it fills. Relax till it gets cool and put on your lotion or knin oils as usual. Add a few drops of essetial oil for a special treat. Sounds messy right? Works for just really dry skin as well. Too, you should moisturize throughout the day with your favorite lotion or the aloe gel.

Try brewing some regular tea and placing cloths soaked in it on the burn. It helped when I was sunburned as a child.

cover the burnt area in paraffin wax after cleaning and removing any burst blisters - these are just sites of infection and will take longer to heal. wash and reapply every 4-6 hours - cover with cling wrap if you wish to cover with clothes - this will stop your clothes getting covered with paraffin and maintains the burn.
paraffin creates a seal stopping water leaving the body and reduces pain as it protects sensitised nerves. the paraffin imitates the natural oils secreted by the skin. skin cells are better able to multiply and regenerate with this treatment. pain is also helped. make sure you buy plenty of this paraffin - as the burn heals switch to aqueous cream bp.
an anti histamine will help as well!

Aloe Vera, it cools and soothes the pain and itch. Use it straight from a plant or try to purchase straight aloe vera gel without alcohol in it.
