Proverbs says pride goes before a fall. I could never understand why Christians say they're "proud to be Christians" knowing that in Peter it says that God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble. Pride is basically an attitude of arrogance and of looking at others from a height, so to speak. God usually sets circumstances and events in motion to bring one back down to earth (reality).

The Proud, continuously attempt to sidestep/preclude or get away from that distinctive FALL. A proud individual (with pointless delight) is not any fool and is quite properly responsive to that overhanging sword atop his head and is familiar with that q4 could be his nemesis. yet, in spite of each and all of the efforts, a proud guy's armor has to crack sooner or later and which will become the top of each and all of the foolishness and drama. that distinctive proud character dies together with his delight and many times a meek and humble gentleman emerges. yet at times this very fall effects interior the form of a genuine monster out of that individual, and which will become a issue for all human beings. fortuitously, such situations are quite uncommon, and are used as detrimental examples interior the sociology textbooks and lectures.

Pride is also a sin. so what ever God does for sin He does for pride... But sometimes God gives a lesson to the proud people to humble them, then they can repent and be ok (saved)
Do a bible research on the word PRIDE and you'll always find it with words like evil, and so on.

A good free download bible that does that (research by words etc.) is the e-sword online bible at

Remember the Pharisees and the Saducees. Jesus didn't have alot of good things to say about them and their proud and arrogant ways so God will judge, even those who don't believe in Him.

I don't know about God, but life has a way of bringing down the proud. They usually become humbled in some way or other.

"Pride goeth before a fall" God shows them that they are not so great. I know, I have been shown that I am not so great and I have watched people realize this by "a fall"
God lets them wake up from their dream and realize "Hey, I'm really nothing without Him"

Pro 16:18 Pride [goeth] before destruction, and an haughty spirit before a fall.

Often misquoted. :)

God does nothing. He doesn't exist.

Pride is a good thing. It is good to value yourself. However, too little or too much pride can be counter-productive.

Religions tend to portray pride only in its extreme, but religions generally paint everything in black and white.
