I never had faith in God--I was merely indoctrinated as an impressionable child when I was too young to know any better, and didn't dare question my parents. To paraphrase George Carlin:
I was a Christian until I reached the age of reason.
"you must let go of evolution and embrace creation."
Why? There's tons of evidence that supports evolution, and none that supports creation. I will follow the evidence, thank you very much--anything else would be ignorant.
"you must let go of mis-guided men and their theories and embrace faith in God's word."
Can you prove that these same "mis-guided men" didn't just write/compile the Bible and CLAIM it was the word of a supreme being as a means to manipulate the masses? Didn't think so. I'm going with Occam's Razor on this one.
"You must reject tradition and receive the truth."
I will only drift farther from the truth by blindly believing your crazy story, which has no basis in fact. No amount of insistence on your part will change that--only evidence will.
"you must move from darkness to light.
you must transition from death to life
you must remove the blinders from your natural eyes and put on the spiritual eyes of faith in God."
You have no idea how ironic these statements are, do you? Face it--we don't NEED your god to learn about our surroundings. When we have completely ruled out every natural hypothesis imaginable, we'll get back to you. Don't hold your breath, though.
"Faith in God allows you to receive that which seems so impossible, believe the incomprehensible and uphold the invincible."
Prove it.
P.S. In the Bible Jesus says that his disciples will be able to perform miracles even greater than his--I think moving mountains was one of the specific ones mentioned. Show me a Christian moving a mountain through sheer willpower and you will have given me reason to believe.

On the contrary, "spiritualism" is a blinder, an effort to see the world in a way that it isn't.
You do realize, right, that quoting your Bible at atheists does not impress us. We have no reason to believe your book is anything but an ordinary book, and that your interpetations of your book are anything but YOUR intyerpetations.
I have no reason to believe, beyond your say-so, that there is such a thing as "God's Word." Unlike religion, I've noticed, science is self-correcting. Religion assumes that it has "the truth" and resists all facts that demonstrate otherwise.
Science is a tool that provides light in your demon-haunted world. Faith is a blindfold and a straitjacket. Creationism is ignorance idealized.

1.How shall I return to where I have never been?
2. I. I. I. removed my blinders by the time I was nine years old.
3. I will not pray to a god that allows children to go through experiences that regularly cause adults to commit suicide.
4. God is a fairy tale or an incompetent. One or the other.
5. I have lived a hard life among hard men and enjoyed every minute of it. The time to kick off draws nearer every day, but I have no fear of it. Nor of the grave. You can't scare me. I have been scared by experts.
6. I will be cremated and thrown into the Gulf of Mexico. That will be THE END.

The day I become Christian is the day someone can prove to me that God exists. Oh, and I don't believe in evolution by the way...I've read it and I think it's crap.
I hold all of the principles that the Bible has in terms of morality...without having even been taught them. I have read your entire Bible, the Qu'Ran, and the Torrah, and even the Book of Satan, among other religious texts.
I believe your book tells you to worry about the log in your own eye before you worry about the splinter in your brother's, no? Yet another thing that turns me off to religion...hypocrisy.
If you look at history AND current events too...you will plainly see that nothing but evil has come from faith in a god.
Besides...
There is substantial proof that Jesus is merely a recreation of many....many earlier gods and prophets of other religions. Buddhist teachings are almost identical to Jesus' words.

Likley never. But then God doesn't reside in a building just because you say he does. Nor is it the only place God could ever be found. God is supposed to be everywhere, and in everything.
If I choose to find god by standing on the boulder in my back acreage, enjoying the sun and being surrounded my nature, how is that less than my going to a specific building at a specific time?
Church is a human construct - not one of God.
Personally, I prefer the boulder, the sunshine, the sound of the wind through the trees as better evidence of the presence of god than a room full of uptight, judgemental, critial, uncomfortable with their own humanity folks.

Ah, another beloved hyper-religious nut. Greetings from planet Earth. Your question is poorly worded, as it implies that I once had faith in God. I've never believed in any higher power and never plan to. And what's with all this "must" stuff, eh? Why am I obligated to believed in your so called God? I'm not against religion, just religion trying fanatically to convert other people. Ever heard of the Spanish Inquisition? Though not. I refuse your offer and continue my life in peace.

I never had any faith. There was a period in my life when I did think there was a God, but I actually had a good reason for thinking this. I never relied on some unfathomable sense of assurance. If I did, I'd probably still be stuck thinking that way after I realized my mistake in logic.

I MUST not do anything but what I want and remember that one day when you found out the Easter Bunny, Santa, and the Tooth Fairy aren't real? Its so refreshing not having to believe in a far fetched religon and instead base my believes on what is right in front of my eyes...reality!

"Atheists you must let go of evolution and embrace creation."
Says who?
"you must let go of mis-guided men and their theories and embrace faith in God's word."
Misguided men insist that the world is only 6,000 years old when it is clear that it is several billion years old.
"You must reject tradition and receive the truth."
Sounds like you are advocating reason over faith.
"you must move from darkness to light."
Ditto.

Goodness, gracious! Is quoting scripture (from a book I don't believe in) going to get me to convert? I don't think so.
So, I'm susposed to reject scientific fact and embrace the idea that a giant, invisible being loves me, yet will send me to hell in a heartbeat if I don't believe in him? I'm sorry, but I'm not about to believe in the sky-daddy, just because you want me to.
I spent many years of my life as a Bible-thumping Christian...I'm not about to go back now :)
