Ratzinger is by no means the charismatic problem-solver that Karol Wojtila (Pope John Paul II) was. His public image is much more that of a crotchety, angry man than his predecessor.

Personally I was hoping for his fellow German Cardinal Lehman to get elected. Lehman is much more of a reformer, like Wojtila. Ratzinger is much less concerned with reforming the ills of the Church than he is with getting the Latin Mass back into regular use.

They are different. Pope Benedict XVI is an intellectual, a theologian. Pope John Paul II was a traditionalist a great ambassador of the Church.

Peace and every blessing!

i like the Pope very plenty. he's authentic to Catholic coaching, he loves the persons and seems to be rather interested in premiere the Church in direction of Christ and salvation. it is unquestionably his superb duty. he's not as loads of an outward "people individual" as JPII became into, yet this does not advise he loves or cares any much less. Being pope does not require air of secrecy, it demands a love for God and a choose to server. i think Pope Benedict is that.

He isn't doing great things like Pope John Paul II but he has canonized good saints.

I like him. Pope John Paul II was far more charismatic but hey he started when he was much younger. I think this Pope is just fine though.

More of a scholar, but a very good man.

I think this is what the RCC needs.

JPII was a great man and certainly did a lot of good. I think with time, His Holyness will be seen as a good leader as well.

He's more of a super brilliant scholar than a people man like JP II. But even he moves people, depending on who they are and their background.

He is politically creepy - wearing pink cowboy hats, and issuing conservative edicts. He is like Cheney, with more personality.
