That information is TOTALLY FALSE. Period!

Title 26 of the US Code quite plainly lays out the rules for the US Income Tax. It's all that you really need to know. What Congress decides to use the money for isn't an issue, whether it's trash collection or nukes doesn't affect your tax liability 2 cents.

There are idiots around who claim that either the Income Tax is illegal, or that the 16th Amendment wasn't properly ratified, or that it's strictly voluntary, etc. There are volumes of both legislation and case law that say otherwise, however, and that's all that matters to you.

Bear in mind that most of these Tax Kooks are convicted FELONS and many of them are in prison right now. If you wish to take tax advice from a convicted felon, knock yourself out. If you don't file your returns when required and pay your taxes when due, you'll likely be joining them eventually. It's your choice; personally, I like my freedom so I'll pay my taxes.

I actually work with a guy that does not pay income tax and he is not considered to be doing anything wrong. Be careful though, when you file paper work to the IRS to have them not take any taxes from you they can and will call your local municipalities and notify them that you do not pay taxes. So if you ever need the Fire Dept/Ambulance or Police they then in turn are not required to come out on that call, as the work for the taxpayers. So tread lightly and good luck.

Don't believe the urban legends. Pay your taxes. The Constitution states that the government through IRS can collect taxes. The IRS sets rules on who pays, how much, and how. Sorry dude, but you just have to pay 'em.

THINGS I DIDN'T KNOW UNTIL I SAW THEM ON THE INTERNET:

Nobody ever really landed on the moon - it was a giant hoax. What you saw on TV was filmed in Utah.

Elvis is still alive, and performing marriage ceremonies in Las Vegas.

It is unconstitutional for the government to tax your wages (income tax), and most of what we think of as income isn't really income anyway.

Excuse me now....I just won 2 million pounds in the online UK lottery when my email was randomly selected, and I have to go answer the email.....

Regardless of what these con artists try to tell you, you DO have to pay income tax. You may not think it's fair, but it's a fact of life. That's why people go to jail for tax evasion...

Don't listen to the kooks out there. You DO have to pay income tax, otherwise bad things can happen to you. Always remember this saying, and pass it down to your kids:

"There are two things in life that are certain; Death, and taxes."

^Not paying your income tax is a federal offense, if your caught you will fined. You can lose your house and/or other personnel property, your credit will be destroyed and you can end up in the federal penitentiary. So remember like it or not we all end up paying one way or another.

Think about it this way. How do you explain Social Services, police, and fire departments? How about trash collection, city, state governments? All these things are made possible with your tax dollars.
