First and foremost, choose a suitable name. For example, calling a male, ferocious, German Shepherd, Bozo may not feel right. Similarly calling a female French Poodle, a masculine name will not look right either. Also remember that whatever name you select, you may have to call that loudly in a crowd as well. If you’ll be uncomfortable doing that, think of some other name.

When i was little, we had a Cocker Spanield, and we named it "TEX"....we thought it was a short, simple and cute name. it matched the dog....and it was something original since i never known another pet with that same name....Good luck.
