Well I agree with the other answers, After my fiance' broke up with me I gave the ring back hesitantly.. i loved the ring because it represented that time in my life. It wasnt the most extravagant ring in the world, but it was special, just like our relationship. But, because it was the right thing to do, I gave it back to him. (we ended on good terms) Because I handled things with respect and like a lady, It came back to me like that. Before I moved away from my ex he gave me back the ring as a token of our friendship and our love. Its something special that i'll always keep, unless I have a little girl who grows up to get her heartbroken.. and than I think i'll give her this ring! but thats besides the point: I say handle it like a lady, be the bigger person. Give him the gifts back, it will only show that you're more mature and that you have moved on. Trust me argueing and fighting only causes chaos!

If you broke up with him, why would he ask me for things back?

Assuming you worded it wrong, if the things aren't a family heirloom or sentimental value to him, they're yours to keep.
They are, after all, gifts.

If the things aren't a family heirloom or sentimental value to him, they're yours to keep forever. I would give them back If they belonged to his family but if they didn't then say, "You dont belong to me *****, There mine and you aren't"
Good luck with whatever you do!!!!

Legally if he gave things to you they are yours to keep. Morally, if they are things that might actually mean something to him, give them back. Be nice.

id give them ( or throw them... depending on how nicely he asks ) back... but it only shows you that breaking up was probably for the best
