Your can buy a condo in your name, but you may not own property in Thailand. if your married the land belongs to your Thai partner, if you divorce, the house and belongings are community property but the land is hers, You can incorporate in a business venture but you will need a Thai lawyer to complete the ,incorporation requirements.
I have owned property thru marriage ,in Sattahip and Nakhon Sawan.
You can address this question to the staff of your local Thai Embassy. Be careful of realtors, they will sell you land that you can not own. Condo, and incorporations for business Yes,

Foreigner can lease property as long term but cannot buy out right. A lot of foreigner will partner up with a local person either by marriage or relationship and buy the property using that person name for the title.

Foreigners can purchase condominiums in Thailand, given that the ratio of ownership in that total project of foreigners is not more than 49 per cent (I think), but not land. You can however entre into a long term lease of land or houses though. Some people rent villas in Phuket for 99 years.

Basically you can, it's much easier for a foreigner to purchase a condominium, where you can freehold 100% of the condo. To purchase a home or land gets a bit involved, and requires legal advice and guidance through the process. This website can explain the different procedures much better than I can: http://www.property.th.com/buyland.php
Good luck.
