I was researching and found out that the right to die with dignity is part of the United Methodist Church doctrine. It made me curious what it would mean to you to die with dignity.

Kerilyn you assume to much! IMO there is nothing dignified about death. I have seen it up close and personal.

Without someone spoon feeding me or whiping my butt when I crap all over the bed. Have some degree of mental capacity left to carry on at least a 2 word conversation.

Luckily I am agnostic (Yet in reading Dawkins I am seeing to many I am an atheist) so no religious belief in effect. Therefore before I get like that I am going to go the Ford House test drive one of those really nice Mustangs and drive it off a cliff.

YOU never saw anyone die have you...its not a pretty sight..."dying with dignity"
means that the person is allowed to die when he feels its time...to die NOW, not after being in pain for days and months...that's whats its all
about...dignity...

MR. Kevorkian has the right idea..

It is taking your life i.e. jump in your car a crash at high speed that's dignified

To die with caring people around and not be abused in any way. I work with this on a daily basis and it is hard to see one of my residents being mistreated by staff or family while they are there dying in their bed.
