Read Deuteronomy Chapter 28.
It begins with the blessings that come to those who listen to and obey God.
It concludes with the curses that befall those who refuse to listen and choose to live life their own way.

I believe that poverty is associated to sin and goodness.
The sins of poverty scream. Drugs, prostitution, homelessness, vagrancy, alcohol, hunger, mental health issues, etc.
Poverty is also associated with goodness which tends to whisper. Folks sharing what little they have, supporting one another emotionally, protecting each other.
Poverty is supposed to be a spiritual by way that brings upon one incredible blessings and enlightenment!
Tell that to the average crack dealer in my city, Sarasota FL, and the answer will be, "What kind of drugs you be on woman! I don't want none of what you on."
I prefer calling sin and mistakes learnings, teachings and lessons.
Hope you get your anser dear. Jen

We can not associate sin with poverty. It is up to God either He want the people to have wealth or not. But God knows which one is best to the person. Cause what important is how best the person use his background for teh good cause of him or others.

The Bible holds the rich accountable for the plight of the poor, as sinners who exploit them. Read the Book of Amos - it is all about sin and poverty.

It's a sin that there's still poverty. It's all our faults if we don't help the less fortunate crawl out of the cesspool of adversity.

if people are poor

then many many things that you would not otherwise consider doing might be tempting

say if you are starving you might eat your pet or something

unthinkable to most of us, yet if you were starving you might

I think when people are poor and going through bad times and still manage to keep their dignity intact, its usually the mark of a very strong good person

its relatively easy to be mostly a good person if you are rich, more difficult if you are poor

the real sin is that the people who are concerned about sin don't do much to help those who are poor.

The sin is when the wealthy do nothing about helping those in poverty.
