Would you be interested in a quick course on what Islam is all about?

Just wanted to write a short info session on Islam: Muslims believe that God is one. That The reason why we are here is to worship God and one day we will return to him. Muslims believe that there is no original sin. Man pay for their own sin, not the sin of others. Muslims believe you can talk to God directly and you need no intercessors. Muslims believe in all prophets from Adam, Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus all the way to Mohamed as the last prophet. Muslims believe that Jesus (PBUH)was sent by God. That Jesus was born out of a virgin. That he is alive and that he will come back. Jesus (PBUH) is the Messiah. Prophet Mohamed is also from the line of prophet Abraham from the side of Ismail. Prophet Muhammed came to confirm all prophets before him, and the message that God is one and also confirm that Jesus PBUH will come back again!

The reason why prophet Muhammad is so important in Islam is because he is an example for Muslims on how to live a good life. For example: You want to know how to pray, How to eat, What to eat, How to go to teh bathroom even, How to raise good kids, how to have a happy marriage? Alla of it is recorded in the (Sunnah) The acts of the prophet, This is a list of collection of sayings of the prophet and also acts of the prophet. Prophet Muhammed taught us that every single act, working, taking care of our kids even eating can be an act of faith and devotion to God. If you show you are greatful and that you love God and remember God with every act is as though you are worshiping throughout the day :)

I like your take on Islam - it just seems that there are so many extremeists out there (as with any religion), but lately it seems to be Muslim terrorists terrorising people. I don't understand how a peaceful religon turns people out this way.

Also could you pleaes give me some info on why Prophet Muhammed seems to be so important - thanks.

i think people need to learn something before judging it. I'm an agnostic, but I believe that religions basically offer socially good ways to live, as in Islam. It's just too bad that we highlight the extrimists in perceiving Islam. But you've made a good start to try gaining understanding from other people about Islam, despite some people's negative responses.
