Yes; I have MS Office for Mac - you have to purchase it separately (there usually are student discounts or bundle deals available)

Apple also has it's own iWork 'suite' of products that come with the Macs

within those programs, you can save the documents in a variety of formats to be compatible with other computers and software.

Hello bjork_fan339,

Yes, go to Microsoft's Mactopia web site to see what's available.

http://www.microsoft.com/mac/

Microsoft has a huge department of developers for the Macintosh platform. They do a fantastic job making Mac versions of Microsoft products. I use Office: Mac at my work and am able to read and write documents with my Windows coworkers.

There's also open source alternatives to Microsoft Office that works great with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint documents, and they're free. There's Open Office and Neo Office available. You can check out Version Tracker to find them, and others.

I've been using ThinkFree Office Suite at my home. It's a Java-based program that works pretty good too. Best of luck to you.

They do make an Office for Mac, so yes. I am unsure about Word Perfect, but Office is pretty much the standard, anyway.
