Question: If you don't eat much one day and eat a lot the next day does that mean it's easier to gain weight the day you eat a lot? How many calories can you eat and maintain your current weight? thanks!

fluctuating what you eat day to day does affect your metabolism but barely affects your weight gain unless you make this process long term. for example if you live off of yogurt and whole wheat toast for 4 days and then pig out for even one you can gain a lot of weight. If you are a full grown average sized person you can consume about up to 2,000 calories a day, which is reasonable. If you are looking to lose weight or are small or pretty thin or just want to play it safe 1,500 calories a day is reasonable.

yes, if you dont eat your body will go into survival mode by basically shutting down your metabolism. If you eat a lot after wards, then you will gain more weight than usual because of this. If you want to keep your body at a constant weight, you need to burn the same amount of calories you are eating. if you want to loose, then you need to burn more. but dont starve yourself.eat small, low calorie snacks throughout the day so your body doesnt go into survival mode. it will be harder to stay at a healthy weight if your body feels it needs to keep its self from starving.

Eat only when hungry and not more than three times a day with nothing, except water, in between. Take plenty of uncooked food, vegetables and fruits, preferably 50%. Chew each morsel 32 times to activate ur body system to signal hunger and fullness.

Take light exercises and brisk walks regularly preferably twice a day.

U will achieve much more than what u r planning to do and that too in a reasonable period. Do not be in a hurry.

fat storage occurs over an extended period of time not on a day to day basis. in terms of weight gain the total calories consumed over the course of the week is a much greater factor.

how many calories you need depends on your body weight and body compostion (body fat %) and your daily level of activity.
