It always amazes me when I read questions on this site in which people are hateful, prejudiced, or have foul mouths (fingers). Or someone has asked a question obviously intended to cause an uproar and people fall into that trap and lose control with their answers instead of ignoring the asker.

The other thing I have noticed is that someone will ask a question, possibly a simple one with the desire to seek information and those who answer will respond with profound rudeness, indicating curse words by substituting some of the letters with an asterisk or a similar letter or number.

Have we, as a society, lost all common sense?

It's easy to be rude in this kind of forum because we aren't face to face.

I think a vast majority of the people on this site are good, kind people, wanting to help others. I know that's why I love it! But then, there's always that sad minority. A lot of them are full of anger and rage, some are perverts, and its so easy for them to be mean because we can't find them. The more time I spend here, the more I can weed out the sickos, right? That's why I never let anyone really get to me or anger me. I just feel sorry for them. And I believe in karma. Another great question. You get a star for that one!

I completely agree with you. Unfortunately I do respond to some of those retarded questions like the one that was said on here just a few minutes ago about eating their own feces. The person needed to know they were nuts, even for writing something like that. But people being hateful usually has to do with their current mood. And them being prejudiced just has to do with racialionalism which is just pain stupid and retarded and childish! Not the whole community has lost common sense, but probably a good portion of it.

Some people are angry at their lot in life and the only places to vent are venues such as this. It is anonymous.
There is also a lot of mental illness in the world and places that allow such anonymity allows, or encourages spewing their venom to unsuspecting readers.
I don't think we, as a society, have lost our common sense as much as we have developed the technology to allow these troubled people, who may not have common sense, to say what they think. Now, they can say things that are not socially acceptable, and not be punished.
My motto in life...
Ignore them....
they will go away,...... or.......
self destruct.
4 out of 5 people have some form of mental illness........
start counting.....I am #1.....

People find it easy to rude and obnoxious in a forum such as this because they are "Keyboard Warriors". The idea is that they can say what they like and get no repremand from it as there is no face to face contact.
It could be its just a thrill to them to do it because its not something they would normally do in the "real world" as it is not socially acceptable.

No, we did not lose our common sense but our sense of sincerity.

They do it on the blog because they no they dont have the courage to tell that person in their face.

They hate themselves so they want everyone to feel the same way they feel.

Just pray for them.

Me I like to see a stupid, ignorant person at work. It makes me feel good about myself to know that I'm better than that. Or it lets me see how evil this world can really be. I do not believe in a devil or demons but I do believe in evil souls and there's alot of them on the internet.

There are a lot of people who find it funny to make others hurt or make them mad. That's what the rude people want. I know a guy that gets off on being rude. You are right the best thing is to ignore them.

Simple, most of the people don't know each other and will never meet. Therefore, some people feel they can say whatever they want. Easy to be a bully, racist, nasty, and uneducated on the net.

They do not care! Have no common respect for others. Its easier to make fun or ridicule someone then look at your own inadequacies. Make themselves feel better and smarter. Fill that void in their so called life.
Peace!!! Love!!! Happiness to all!!!

I would say that being rude is fruitless, but there are those that haven't the skills to be reasonable, they have as much right to express themselves as anyone, and that would seem to be the only way they can. If it bothers you, you certainly don't have to read what they write.
