Here's His attitude towards entrenched sinners:

God is a righteous judge,
and a God who executes justice every day.
If anyone does not repent,
God will sharpen His sword;
He has strung His bow and made it ready. He has prepared His deadly weapons;
He tips His arrows with fire.
Psalm 17:11-13

Here's His attitude towards those who put their trust in Him:

" The LORD is compassionate and gracious,
slow to anger and full of faithful love.
He will not always accuse [us]
or be angry forever.
He has not dealt with us as our sins deserve
or repaid us according to our offenses.
For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
so great is His faithful love
toward those who fear Him.
As far as the east is from the west,
so far has He removed
our transgressions from us.
As a father has compassion on his children,
so the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him.
For He knows what we are made of,
remembering that we are dust. "

Psalm 103:8-14

So which side are you on? His merciful side, or His angry side?

No, although he could.

The great thing about God is that he doesn't destroy us the moment we do something stupid or evil. We have until the day we die to ask him for forgiveness. (Although no-one knows when it will be...) And the even better thing is that he does. Just ask him.
