It depends where you live. Ask around your area how much people are charging for lessons (call music stores, etc). Then go ahead and charge the lowest price you found but not lower, otherwise your prospective students may think you are less of a musician and the other guitar teachers may resent you for lowering the lowest set price. Depending on your performing experience, teaching experience, and level of education you may charge more but I don't suggest doing that until you have established yourself as a guitar instructor.

Guitar Lessons Price

I purchased an acoustic guitar when I was 19 and taught myself to play what I know. I'm no expert and will never be. I only play same as you, for the hobby of it. I don't necessarily recommend an acoustic because electric can be fun too. Either are fairly cheap for starters so you might get both and play around with both. In my experience, lessons run about $30 to $50 USD (Euro is about half that) but I don't know the value of guitar lessons in Europe. Most likely very similar. You can take a few lessons to get the basics down and then go from there. I would have done that if I knew anyone who gave lessons in the small town I was from. Electric guitars require an amp and you aren't going to be very mobile. Acoustic guitars are much more mellow. Once you get fairly good you will see it is advantageous to have both. Play the electric when you've had a bad day... play the acoustic when its quite before bed. Either way, I encourage you to do it because I'd give up very much if I had to in order to play. It's like speaking through your fingers. Its communicating without words. Hope this helps.

My 17 year old son takes lessons from a local music store manager, in his home. He charges $20 per half hour. However, he gave us a $10 discount when he taught two of my kids. Nice perk to consider.

How long it takes to learn guitar depends on how good you want to get and how much practice you put in. How good you can get with 1-2 hours a day for a few months depends on what methods you use to practice. There are effective practice methods that will help you make the best use of your time. This course is one of the best. https://biturl.im/aU0ll It's not just about how much you play but how effectively you play that will determine how good you will get.
